World’s first video of a rare monkey

This is an interesting video, locals would describe seeing this monkey and people would brush it off as folklore.

Fauna and Flora International has captured the world’s first video footage of Myanmar Snub-Nosed Monkey. This new species (Rhinopithecus strykeri) was discovered in 2010 and has remained hidden from video cameras up until now. This is the first species of snub-nosed monkey to be discovered outside.

There are probably many undocumented hominids out there in the wilderness. The Government is the only ones that have for sure done medical autopsies on these monsters..

Yes i rember this from several years back, i think there was a search done by someone to look for these things. Gotta love when new. Cool when species are discovered or rediscovered?

So sad that we often “discover” a new spices when they’re almost extinct. ☹️ Only about 100 left?! ? That is not a viable breeding population! We’ve discovered them just in time to watch them go extinct! ?

Yeah, Patricia, it’s so sad. When you think of how long it took, and unbroken chain of species to species through time, all the way back to the one-celled organisms that we the grandparents of everything, for this creature to develop, it hurts your heart and scares your mind. In and of itself, the loss of this animal is tragic; but also, most people have no idea what danger we, ourselves are in as more and more species, all of which play important roles in the ecosystem, disappear. Just how many animals do we have to eradicate before we, ourselves, bite it?
