In 1999 I was driving back from Blythe, California and it was about 10PM I slowed my semi down going through the mountains when I came to a pull out, and I got out to relieve myself.
While I was standing on the passenger side of my truck, that’s when I heard a sound of rocks falling. When I looked up, I saw something that I can’t describe in words. It ran 20 yards in front of my truck heading east; I jumped back in my truck and drove off.
I’ve never told anybody about this not even my wife, because I thought people would think I am crazy. I have never drove that highway again at night. What I saw was about 7 or 8 feet tall, it was grayish brown, and what scared me the most was the grunt it made when it crossed the highway.
Also Noticed: Just the grunt it made as it crossed to the other side of the highway.

What highway as this on?

Doesn’t sound like I-10. That has rest stops. I’m wondering if it was that highway that goes from Blythe to Needles. What is it – 95? I’ve been on that a few [day]times. Nothing there but desolate rocky mountains – and a lot of turnouts.

Hey Wes, I actually like to hear about the road side crossings…Not boring as you were somewhat concerned about. These give us an idea of where these things are as long as we have the location of the crossing. Please provide these accounts if they are available.
Thanks!!

Highway 78 and 86S are close to Anza Borego state park off of S2 where I seen what looked like a dogman. I never would’ve thought there was enough food in these areas to sustain such large creatures.
