A listener writes” This past Saturday night I was driving home from Texarkana Texas back to Tulsa it was about between 12-1am. I was on highway 82 west of new Boston Texas and east of Clarksville.
It’s wooded in that area and the road is somewhat hilly. This was the first time I’ve taken that route coming back I normally go up through idabel if I’m that far east but there is big rig parking just north of Paris Texas at a casino and that’s where I planned on sleeping for a few hours. I was running up and down hills cruising about 65 with my brights on. Not a hole lot of traffic on the road that late and my brights are led’s so I could see a good ways out out. I was at the bottom of a hill and my lights were lighting up about 3/4 of the hill I was about to go up.
I glanced over to my phone to change a song and when I looked up there was something standing about a 1/2 mile in front of me on the east bound lane. At first I thought it was a reflection from my phone on the windshield but when I realized the screen was blacked out it made me worry. By the time I realized hey that’s someone or something I was pretty much on it.
It had to be 6 1/2’ to 7’ tall it had a dark brown torso and grey legs the arms were way long as well. As I passed it I couldn’t look over at it anymore I had this gut feeling that said put the pedal down and get out of here. So that’s what I did, as I was driving I thought okay maybe it was another driver that broke down and is walking to get help so I started looking for cars on the side of the road I then realized where would they be walking to it was 12-15 miles to the last town and it was weird how it just appeared out of no where. So that’s what I saw Just not sure what it was has me a bit weirded out still. Supposed to go back that way in a few weeks but I don’t think I will. Thought I’d pass on the info maybe see if you could make some sense of it or have some info or can pass it along to someone that might.”

Yeah idk, “Squatch happens”. My guess would be the universe was telling you to pay more attention and keep your eyes on the road because things can happen fast that you don’t expect.
Living with with a small dose of Sasquatch PTSD is probably a cheap lesson, much easier to deal with that than imagining the repercussions you’d live with if you accidentally ended someones life later on. Your playlist isn’t that important.

There are lots of reports in that area of Oklahoma and I used to live in Idabel, it’s very desolate in that entire area north of Texarkana. It would weird me out too! You just get a creepy feeling driving down there. Id love to hear your encounter on the show.

You’re right, Paul. It looks like that actually happened on US 82 in far northeast TX. I’ve driven on those roads on both sides of the OK/TX border, and they definitely can be squatchy.
