We Have No Idea What It Was

A listener writes “I just started listening to the podcast and I had to share. I’d rather not call in, as I hate the sound of my voice one stories is mine, I’m not sure if it was bigfoot but I can’t think of any other explanation. The other 2 are my husband’s.

Now for context before I begin, my father in law used to run a trap line and bait shop between Sault Ste Marie Ontario and Wawa when he was alive and he used to do the same in the northwest territories in his early 20s.

My husband spent many hours helping him and in the bush. He knows what is let’s say normal and what isn’t. I am a wildlife technician and I too have a good understanding of nature, so we tend to consult eachother on things that we find strange. As we both still spend many hours in the woods. His story beings when he was young still just going into highschool. He was out hunting, in a tree stand on his father’s land that was backed by crown land. He has seen things from poaching to animals of different species trying to mate with each other. (The laws of nature aren’t really laws there are more like guidelines that can get bended and molded to a creatures benefit).

So he is in a tree stand that is open to a clearing and then everything goes quiet, like creepy, hair raising, not right quiet. Not a bug, bird or anything making noise. And then he hears this loud blood turns to ice in veins roar/scream. The best he can describe it is half animal, half human roar. Followed by crashing branches, and trees shaking. Everything in him told him run but he can’t move. He stayed in the tree stand for what felt like ages. Only when the sounds of birds and animals started up again was he able to move and even then he was shaking like a leaf. Cut to a yearish later, near the same area.

My partner is walking through the bush trying to find good spots for hunting and trap lines. Comes across, three wolves torn to shreds. Limbs ripped off each one, body cavity torn open and heads pulled off and shoved on to sticks that were put into the ground. A warning of my territory stay out. He brought his father to the spot and he is a seasoned bushman, went pale and told him to never come to this area ever again. So for all the people thinking poachers did it. They both looked at everything there was no bullets. The animals were torn apart, you can tell went a knife is used the cuts are pretty smooth. A knife was not used, the flesh was ripped. He has never been back to that spot.

My story takes place outside of Perth Ontario. We have a family cottage on a lake, to get there you have to pass a dirt road and a old farm that was abandoned in the 1960s. The barn is falling down and the road to there is overgrown but it’s surrounded by lots of raspberry bushes. I was about I think somewhere between 6-8 and my cousin (4 years older) my aunt and her dog, and I decided to walk up the road to the farm and see if the raspberries were pick able yet. The whole road is about 2.2 miles through forest and then you have the old driveway up to the farm. It was uneventful on the way there, went up no berries out yet and started walking back. Now the farm road has a ditch on either side, I’m about 5’9 and the ditch is about knee deep for me.

The road as I said is badly over grown, so we are walking back and my cousin and I are ahead by a bit, my aunt’s dog trots up to the ditch and something growls at her. She jumps a solid foot back and stared at the spot. Now being the dumb child that I was. I walk back and up to her and say what’s going on girl. And walk to the ditch (keep in mind we don’t see anything there) and whatever it was jumped up and ran through the bush crashing as through as it goes making lots of noise.

Now I’ve been there since and measured out roughly how big it was (using a tree and other environmental factors as a gage) and whatever it was, was taller than my dad (who is 6’2). We have no idea what is was, we still don’t know. I know it wasn’t a bear cause bears can’t get that small or that big and run as fast as it did, plus bears don’t growl the way it growled. It’s fur was a light to medium brown. I’ve had other times where I have walked that road and I feel watched (not in a good way) and were I feel like I’m being followed by something in the bush. I can’t have my windows open at night now cause I feel like something is trying to look in. I’ve had neighbors say that at night something come up to the cottage but bolts through the bush the second it realizes it’s been spotted.”

You’re darn right Chad. Glad someone is finally waking up, it IS definitely disturbing.

As a hunter myself I don’t senselessly kill things and then make a gruesome, bloody or intentional display of fear from that kill… I treat things with respect. The closest thing I’ve ever done was I found the skull of a winter killed doe deer and put it on a stick to potentially keep other hunters out of my area, but I slept on what I had done and it occurred to me immediately how selfish and disingenuous it was to others who might be trying to enjoy the outdoors as well… The following day I walking up to it I could imagine how some people would see that as a disturbing dark memory for themselves. I was ashamed I had done it. I took it down where the Earth could naturally reclaim it, and prayed. Barely made it into my hunting ground blind while standing and continuing setting up and I turn around to see a whitetail doe and her fawn just 30yds away. They just stood there peacefully, just watching me do my thing as if I were the last resemblance as a threat to them. And they were right, I had no plans on shooting a doe and especially one with a fawn. They stayed quite a while keeping me company, alerting to all potential dangers as I used their reactions to help me look for other incoming wildlife in the area, paying attention their fast heads up movements and perked ears, to everything, everything except me.

They left for about two hours and then came back, with a nick buck in tow right in front of me… I shot that buck, and still they just hung around a bit unbothered, even when I stood up again. I knew everything was good with nature and it’s consciousness as well as mine, I knew it the moment those deer let me get so close when I was still getting ready for the hunt (especially with the fawn). At the low light of sunset I was on my exit out of the woods and roughly 150yds left to the truck that evening, when the same doe and the fawn appear within shooting range again and a different buck in tow, but she must not’ve understood I only had one buck tag. 🙏🏼
Nature teaches and provides. You respect it and amazing things happen. True story

Could very well be Bigfoot activity in that abandoned farm. I would think, especially up in Canada, that the largest preditory threat to the baby and very young Sasquatch would be a herd of wolves. Message sent.

Personally Charles idk who we should be root for. The wolfs genes gave us mans best friend, and traumatized myself far less about being outdoors compared to a Sasquatch… We know what a wolf is and how to control its population and the good it does to eliminate weak and injured animals from the herd… We aren’t even sure what a dang Sasquatch even is. Now, let that soak in as a reality check.
I swear I’m gonna break this spell people are under.
      God Bless.

We are animals too aren’t we? I’d have to say Sasquatch is notorious for the suffering of animals, both physically with breaking limbs, and as with some humans psychologically damaging. Sasquatch displays classic narcissistic behavior patterns where it’s nice if you let it have its way or cater to it, but if you do something it doesn’t like or go somewhere it doesn’t want it throws a complete hissy fit with rage, usually destroying something in nature (Gods Creation) which is the sole reason we even exist right now with a soul and a consciousness.
We need to stop being charmed by the lures of certain things so deeply and get back to gut instincts or intuition and baseline facts. Idk give a hoot or a whoop about how big or powerful something like a Cryptid appears to be. My personal internal jury is advising me that the scales of righteousness or truth do not tip or bow to whatever this creature claims to be and that evidence proves otherwise.

Heard this on Paranormal Portal last night, you guys should check it out. Brent is quite an awesome host with some of his own encounters and ideas as well, and most of all he’s honest. I try and watch all of them when I can.
Yeah… That’s a plug, but an unprovoked one. The best kind.
    🇺🇸 🙏🏼❤️
