Vocalizations heard by trucker

I want to thank Kevin K. for sending this to me

truck

I am a long haul truck driver, hauling between Washington and Alaska. On the Night of the 23rd of March I was traveling Southbound on Hwy 37 (Cassiar). At approx. 1930 hours I stopped at the rest area known as Bell 1 for a dinner break and turned the truck off because the temperature was above freezing. There was absolutely no one in this rest area except for me.

I got out of the truck to walk around while my meal was heating and to stretch my legs. I immediately got a very strong sense that I was being watched, and the hair on the back of my neck an arms stood up. I walked very fast back to the truck scanning the area as I walked.

As I was getting back into the truck I heard a sound that sounded like a howl from a distance of about a 1/4 of a mile away, I have never heard anything like that before in my life (I have been hunting for most of my life, I am familiar with the sounds of wildlife and the howls of wolves). At this point I got into the truck and locked the door, I started to eat and about 3-4 minutes later I heard the howl again, louder and closer this time. It made me very nervous and I jumped out of the truck and threw my food in the garbage can about 4 steps from the truck and in turning to the truck to get back in I heard the third howl and it sounded like it came from about 300 yards away behind the outhouses (2). I left there fast without even putting my seat belt on.

I can only describe the sound as being exactly like the Ohio howl on your website. To me it was almost like a long drawn out moan. The howl started off being in the distance and got closer in a period of about 8-10 minutes with the second howl being the longest of the three. The third was the loudest. I have stopped at this rest area multiple times and have never encountered this before. It made me very uneasy.

I am not exactly sure what I heard and what was out there. I am an avid hunter in the Pacific Northwest and never have I had something in the woods cause my hair to stand on end and cause an immediate desire to get out of the area. I can only relate that I have had a large cougar within yards of me in the Idaho Panhandle National Forest and never felt the fear I felt from this encounter.

It was your boss wanting you back driving!!LOL!! But seriously that must have been scary as heck, as you said you have heard all the sounds in the woods, and this was foreign to you… Have you ever had any other experience’s ? Did you believe in bigfoot before this?

The Bigfoot howl translation was….” I’m coming for your Lasagna!!!!” Creepy…….it seemed to make a bee-line….wonder how many people pulled into a rest stop but never left…..

There is an abandoned SUV there right now that had been sitting for a month!

This is a report I found on the BFRO website.

We also pulled in 2 weeks ago at 1:30 am and witnessed 7 EXTREMELY LOUD tree knocks and that “infamous” Samurai chatter!

To bad it wasn’t an old style cab over just crowl over the dog house an hold on. But with older truck you don’t won’t to wait for the air pressure to build up,put it in the big hole and stand on it. It’s must be scary big trucks do not take off fast. Leaving his lunch may have prevented him from being lunch.

This report was found post defacto. My wife and I are Alaskan OTR truckers who run between Alaska, Yukon Territory, British Columbia. We were on episode 94 and gave our previous accounts. Approximately 2 weeks ago, my wife (Keeli) was driving and pulled into the Bell rest area at 0130hrs am….and upon arriving she immediately began to heard 5 EXTREMELY LOUD tree knocks. They were so loud and close that they were heard over the 600HP Detroit Diesel engine in our Western Star 4900!!!

She turned thr truck off, woke me up and I immediately heard 2 rapid successive tree knocks and it was followed by the infamous “Samurai chatter”. It sounded like people talking really loud in the woods at a distance up on the ridge top behind the 2 outhouses described on the 2007 BFRO report posted here by another trucker. We were shocked to find that a similar incident had occurred in this same fashion, same area/place. I think in both instances the trucks startled a group of them and they needed to leave in a hurry.

On May 17th at 2200hrs in a brake check area about 25 Mikes south of this area, we heard EXTREMELY LOUD screams coming from the mountains to the west of the Cassiar.

This route is a very remote roadway that is 750km long with little to virtually NO human present…..with the exception of Dease Lake, Good Hope Lake and Isklut—-all first Nations remote villages. We travel the route twice a week NB and SB. It’s is incredibly beautiful, but one MUST be prepared to help ones self…..there is no real modern facilities to speak of…..and there is absolutely NO cell service for the stretch of this roadway.

We have pictures we took yesterday of large trees that are snapped in half and all bent in the same direction. Also notice a strange stick structure back in the woods that can be briefly scene from the bridge, but not really accessible to people.

We will keep you posted and hopefully we can get Wes to post our pics…..and maybe, just maybe we can catch some sound clips as we traverse throw the area each week.

Somethings going on there…..the hair stands up on your neck…..you can tell your being watched at times. And we are not the only truckers up north who experience these types of things. We have LOTS of stories from Yukon and Alaskan villagers who encounter these thIngs. The people in the North KNOW for a FAST thsee things exist. And some will share their stories….to others who live in the north too.

    Best,

    Kevin & Keeli

I’m guessing the boogers have figured out how to scare off drivers & dumpster dive for leftover dinner. I wonder if this troupe knows about game cams pointed at garbage cans?

With the approaching sounds of the howls, seems like the creatures were hunting you! These creatures are intelligent and opportunists. I imagine they are aware of the trash cans for scavenging. The sudden appearance of humans is an added bonus. Creepy to think about it. Thank you for sharing. Stay safe and always watch your backs!
