**Upgrade and planned outage for the site**

We are moving over to a larger, more efficient server this week. While this is exciting for us (and will be for you), it’s going to take a little bit of work to get the site migrated and back to working status.

We’ve done what we can to make the transition as smooth as possible, but as with all great things, there may be a few hiccups along the way. We anticipate the site being completely down for at least a couple hours beginning at 12pm PST on Thursday, March 24th. Hopefully we will be back up and running by around 3:30pm, but will post updates as they become available. This is the only planned outage, so we won’t leave you for long.

We will do everything in our power to make sure you are inconvenienced as little as possible, but please be patient with us over the next few days while we work out any kinks! Thank you all for your support of the show… You are the reason we have been able to get to this point, and the reason we continue to love what we do!

If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact us via Facebook, Twitter, or email.

The site should only be down for a few hours. I have several guests lined up. I will do my best to get the show up before the site gets updated. You guys should notice the site load and navigation should be a lot faster.

Hi Wes, since you are improving the site, do you think you could somehow add a function to the site where you get alerts, then can click on the alert and it directs you to the spot. The main use for this that I desire would be alerts regarding responses to posts in your blogs, then being able to click on the alert and go directly to the response (kind of like youtube has).

As it stands now, most of the time you don’t see responses to your posts because they are buried in the many blogs and a person doesn’t feel like wading back through every comment in every blog to find it again.

        Thanks Wes.

I very much appreciate the effort you put in to SC Wes, that is why I am a member. Is there a chance that with the new server might come an improved forum software system? Not complaining just hoping….

Much luck with everything, Wes! Being in IT, I know you can only plan so much and hope for the best! I’ve spent many sleepless nights into days with customers, so I know the ‘hold your breath & pray’ scenario very well. Despite rumors to the contrary, you cannot plan for every possibility. I’m sure the guys you have working on it will do great, and it’s great that you’re moving to a bigger infrastructure! Continued success!
