A listener writes “I’m reaching out because I would like to share several unusual encounters I’ve experienced over the years on my grandfather’s property. In total, I’ve had four or five sightings, some of which were also witnessed by my girlfriend, my brother, and my girlfriend’s brothers.
The first major incident occurred when I was about 12 years old. My brother, who was 15 at the time, and I both heard and saw something large moving down a hill near the property. It was loud and heavy unlike any animal we were familiar with. That experience has stayed with us ever since.
More recently, in 2025, my girlfriend and I had another encounter near the wooded area on the property. We both had a strong sense that we were being watched, and we ultimately felt as though we were being followed out of the woods. The experience was intense and unsettling, reinforcing our belief that something unexplained may be present there.

The property is located in West Virginia. After speaking with the witness, he explained that his grandfather never allowed anyone to go outside at night and made a point of pulling down the shades on every window in the house after dark. When the witness told his grandfather about what he had seen, his grandfather simply replied, “It happens…don’t tell anyone.”

Typical advice from the older generation of those West Virginia folks. The owners of the West Virginia Bigfoot Museum in Sutton, WV have stated that a lot of the old foks that have had sightings and property activity are finally coming to them with their stories, that they have held to themselves for decades.
