Jeff writes “I’ve had 3 encounters with these animals, all unsolicited/unwanted on my part. Plus, I’ve never gone out looking for these creatures. It’s not something that I would recommend for anyone to do, but that’s just me & I’m sure I’m a little biased after my run-ins with them.
The first two encounters were in the late ‘70’s in a heavily wooded & small(especially back then) suburb of Charlotte called Mint Hill & about 6-9 months apart. I really had no idea that Bigfoot were even on the east coast & my only knowledge of them was mainly from the “In Search Of” TV show that showed the PG film, which I saw the original airing & made sure to catch the next time they showed it again, as I was very interested in those kind of things. My encounters began about a year or two later.
First encounter: As a teenager I used to practice walking thru the woods, with or without shoes, trying to be as quiet as possible as I admired the way native Americans were very skilled at this. One night I accidentally snuck up on an apparent BF while doing this & it was not very happy when it realized I was there!
Second encounter: A full visual(head to toe) of a white one on a full moon night shaking a tree right behind me. Of course, he wasn’t happy where I was either.
Third encounter: Fast forward 40 years to right before Covid hit & in Uwharrie NF while mountain biking.
