Tonight’s Show: I knew I was about to die

A listener writes “I have had two encounters in my life with what I believe was a juvenile, and alpha male Sasquatch.

Both encounters were in OR, the first was around 2006-2007. I just graduated highschool. It was in a small farm town an hour and a half south of Portland. It was going through our trash, and recycling bins. After the encounter my mother and I discussed a lot of oddities that occurred to the house after the first meeting. We believed a family, or young juveniles, or the same junenile continued to harass our house until my family finally moved out of that house. Jiggling our door handles, throwing rocks at our
back door, and even laying out all of our yard tools on our patio in our backyard without making a sound.

The second encounter was when I was 21, right before I went into the military. I was with a group of friends, and we were going camping. Went deep into the woods, heard tree knocking, it came closer to us, and then eventually it came close enough to growl/chuff at me…because I foolishly yelled at it, and was trying to act tough. I have been in some bad places in the military, but nothing scared the hell out of me like this thing did. I knew I was about to die. Well it barked/chuffed at me again and we took
off. It kept pace, and threw a branch at us.

I would like to go into more detail, but I don’t want to write a novel. I’d rather talk to you, I feel that is a more honest means of communication. I hope you’re willing to hear me out. I don’t go hiking, or camping anymore…well I will go camping with a good groups of friends, armed to the teeth, and with dogs. I use to love the woods, now I’m scared of going by myself, and I hate being outside at night.

No kidding it sounds scary – can’t wait to hear this one. PS & BTW ~ I love that picture of the white Sasquatch. I saw that short when it came out. The guy caught the creatures essence, and contempt for human encroachment. Love it. Thanks Wes.
