I heard something similar in Kansas but the deeper first howl was a male tenor voice that was too loud, too far away and calling too long to be human with multiple, high pitched, excited, female type screaming replies.
These vocals are creepy on this recording. What struck me is Thinker Thunker points out there is no variation in pitch. Also he said they don’t seem to mind that we hear them. I agree but think that’s weird. I remember thinking that same thing when I heard the cries.
