Residents of a quiet borough of Devon, England were alarmed in 1996. A number of eyewitnesses came forward and shared their encounters in the Churston Woods between Paignton and Torquay. The press called it “Churston Bigfoot.”
The creature, which was spotted multiple times, was generally described as being around 5ft tall, with brown hair covering its body. The strange part about the encounters is people described the creatures face having a green tinge.

It wasn’t long before research organizations such as the Center for Fortean Zoology had started to look into the phenomenon, with director Jon Downes commenting that “this one is a real cracker because it has so much separate and credible corroboration to it.”
The group’s members even undertook field research to look for evidence of the creature.
“Our search in the area brought up nothing of interest unfortunately,” they wrote. “We found no evidence of tree structures, branch snapping or footprint evidence.”
Overall, around 15 witnesses came forward over a six-week period, but nobody was ever able to definitively explain what the creature was or why it disappeared as quickly as it had appeared.

It really seems like you can’t throw out anything anymore when it comes to beings appearing in areas or looking like something that hasn’t been reported before. You really have to look more at the general characteristics of the incident and also the credibility of the witness and if there is some immediate and intentional gain for them… even so, I do believe there are many true encounters that happen to less credible people.
If choosing less credible people is intentional by the being or not I don’t know… but it makes sense if they/it did, it’s a simple way to muddy the waters to the truth. A premium way to cause chaos and confusion is to have people argue, discredit and fight amongst each other… I’d personally like the paranormal/Sasquatch community to have our own set of professionals dedicated to lie detecting (such as reading facial gestures)… I don’t think we can rely much on our own tech anymore as it’s proving to be easily corrupted and used against us.
