The sound of children laughing

A listener writes “Hey, I don’t know if this was a Bigfoot thing or not. Certain things just don’t add up.

About 5 years ago I went kayaking the Brule River which separates Michigan & Wisconsin with a few friends. The week earlier we kayaked the 1st half and everything was fine. It was a great trip.
This trip started out normal with nothing strange.

The water was higher because of recent rain so the river was moving at a good flow. We started about Noon and it was suppose to be about a 5 hr paddle. There are very few cottages along this river and the ones we did see no one was there. The forest on each side is fairly thick and undeveloped. We kept thinking we were about to turn around a bend & find our pull out spot. Well that didn’t happen. It started to get dark out and it felt like we were never going to get off this river. I swamped my kayak several times and so did one of my friends. There was no reasons for it, it just happened.

Along the river banks were extra large what we thought were firefires but they were about the size of baseballs and not just yellow-green color but also blueish. There was also the sound of children laughing. Now it’s dark out with no lights in this area. There might have been cabins but it was at night and no adult sounds. It was just this odd sound of kids playing and laughing for what seemed to be forever along the river, At this point we are all kind of freaking out because we thought we missed the area our jeeps were parked. At that point there weren’t any lights anymore and no sound. All of a sudden we see the lights of the take out area.

We get full of muck getting off the river and pulling our kayaks out. We get to the Jeeps and it’s almost 2am in the morning. We were on the river for over 12 hours. The trip should have taken about 5 hours. There was no cell service the whole time were on the river and in the area we were in. All of a sudden someone cell connects to the jeeps Bluetooth We are diving on fire lanes that are just sand with tall pine trees. That whole area is undeveloped and just trees.

We got back to the cabin, took a shower (had tons of bruises-not sure where they came from) and couldn’t relax. I didn’t sleep for several days and didn’t kayak for the rest of the summer. Wasn’t even really comfortable on the regular boat on the lake.

No sure what we passed through but I will never kayak the Brule again.

Thanks”

Wow, that’s like 9 hours of missing time. I’ve seen that happen before. I used to work for my uncle’s canoe rental business. I put a young couple on the river for what should have been a lazy 2 hour evening float down to the take out at my uncle’s place.

11 hours later, well after night fall, the couple calls us from the gas station in town. They were furious because we weren’t there to pick them up. The geniuses had paddled 9 miles. UPSTREAM! LOL!!

Not trying to poopoo the story. I believe it in this case and would love to hear more details. That had to be one wild ride!

Just having fun !!! Maybe … maybe Not … That’s weird to be more then double time late … In my youth l would do a little herb that would confuse my time… but not by five hrs… and the children laffing is very common amongst people who are looking BF… YOUR not always in charge when in the deep woods… stay safe

Look up the very well documented alien abduction “Allagash incident” from northern Maine in the 1970s…this guys story had some interesting parallels. Missing time and inexplicable bruising? Abduction and repressed memories perhaps.
