Certainly Dania Beach being just south of Fort Lauderdale, would not be a place one would expect to see a Sasquatch. However in 1970 Im sure it was much different and was known as the Tomato Capital of the World back then and a population less than a 3rd of what it is now. It was about 5 years ago when a report came out of a 7 foot Bigfoot sighting outside of a zoo along US 1, near Jupiter Florida at dusk.

This was a few years ago, and I forget the source. I do remember calling my sister who lives nearby by in Stewart Florida about it.

I found it for you Bill F. Although it is a bit different than what I wrote, in that it was on Hwy 1 late at night by Jonathan Dickenson State Park. The witnessee paralleled it a bit.. When looking at a satellite map I can see where a Bigfoot could easily get into this neighborhood from the Florida interiior, and maybe not be seen until when it was. It is a BFRO report.
