The Skin Was Shiny Black Like Leather

A listener writes “I have debated for a long time about sending you this. I grew up in SE Oklahoma about 45 minutes north of Honobia.

That being said I grew up hearing about the bigfoot stories in Honobia but my family always made fun of those “people” so I never believed any of those stories. Then I had an encounter that I never could explain. It was 2006 and I was 16 at the time. It was in November and I was deer hunting during rifle season. The area that I was hunting was very game rich and had a lot of wildlife, mainly deer which is why I was there. I had hunted that morning and didn’t see much so I wanted to go to a different spot that was a couple miles away on my 4 wheeler. The spot I was going to was an old deer stand that my grandpa hunted out of years ago. It was a spot where three fingers came together out of the bottom.

The deer love to use these fingers to come out of the bottom and head back to their bedding areas. Anytime someone set up in this stand you could almost always see deer. When I got to where I always park I turned off my 4 wheeler and started looking around before I stepped off to walk to the stand. That’s when I heard the strangest noise I had ever heard. At the time I didn’t know what to think but later in life I heard that sound again but in a much different tone it sounded like the sierra sounds but more high pitched. What I thought at the time was it sounded like someone trying to make bobcat or mountain lion sounds but choking on a mouth full of peanut butter at the same time. I know that sounds weird. I started looking around trying to locate the sound and that’s when I saw something black sticking out behind a pine tree. I pulled up my gun and looked through the scope for a better look and just as I got focused in the scope the black object about 3ft of the ground went behind the tree.

I left my cross hairs on that spot and waited for whatever it was to come out. That’s when I heard the “peanut butter cat noises” again but couldn’t see anything. So I let out a whistle to try and get whatever it was to move. About 1 maybe 2 seconds after I whistled that’s when it peaked from around the tree and I had the crosshairs right between its eyes. Its eyes were big and dark and reminded me of doe eyes. The skin was shiny black like shiny leather. My first thought was it was a person but why was he wearing all black not camo and it was rifle season where was his hunter orange. I was looking through the scope just a couple seconds before I lowered my gun and the only thing I could think to do was yell at it. I was still trying to process what I was looking at. I was trying to tell myself it was a person but deep down I knew it wasn’t a person even though it looked very much like a person. I started my 4 wheeler and raced out of there and went home. The whole ride trying not to throw up I was sick to my stomach.

I have had a couple more things happen in the woods to me that are hard to explain from a deer carcass that disappeared from where I left it and having something left at my tree stand as a “gift”. I don’t really believe the bigfoot gifting thing but that’s what I perceive to have happened. After I started doing research and finding out how these things mimic animals and people I know I have heard them before and didn’t know at the time what I was hearing..”

    Thanks Wes for all your hard work and trying to get people on here to tell their encounter or encounters !
    We know people are still scared shitless , and People have to realize it’s not that easy to get people on here .
    If they are ready to talk and finally get it off their chest they would feel better because someone somewhere has been through about the same thing. It’s ok We (Sasquatch Chronicles Family) will wait and support you when you do decide . ????
