The Scream Reverberated In My Body

A listener writes “I wanted to share my encounter that happened to me and my buddy back in 1991 in Fremont, Wisconsin. We were camping behind his home, in between two small ponds that were approximately 30 yards behind his house, with an abandoned farm directly behind us, and woods beyond that. I was 12, my buddy was 11.

It was about 9 or 10pm, I remember we were inside a small camping tent, trading baseball cards under our flashlights, oblivious to all noises outside of the tent. Then we hear a loud “Ga-goosh!” noise, like a boulder had been dropped into the pond to my left from a great height, followed by a typical roar/scream/yell commonly described on your show.

The scream reverberated in my body, shaking me horribly. I was terrified. As soon as my body stopped shaking from the scream, I bolted for the house, with my buddy following right behind. We made it to the house, both hysterically trying to tell his Mom what just happened.

All I remember saying in between sobbing was: “It was the Boogie Man”. I don’t really recall what happened after that, we probably calmed down and watched movies until the sun came up. My uneducated guess is we were disturbing Its water/food source for the evening, as that was the first (and only) time we camped in his backyard. Both ponds were full of frogs, turtles, fish, etc.”

It’s tragic when the end of innocence is lost so abruptly in fear to individuals (especially the young ones), but just as tragic is when it slips away from many, slowly, silently and unnoticed; unnoticed until you let your soul shine.
The greatest good watches with a keen eye as well.🙏🏼🌞

Life is funny like that where you have to boil things down to filter or distill the essence of its truth and then discard the rest.

If someone is trying to tell you to drink a lot more water, maybe you’d see some logic and truth in that, might be a good idea. But if your instincts tell you it seems like they’re trying to also hard sell you THEIR water. It might be wise to take the best and simple route, and get your own water… An unbranded one you feel safe and confident drinking:)
