The Ohio Bigfoot Conference

COLUMBUS (WSYX) – The most recent “Bigfoot” report in Ohio was outside Zanesville last December. According to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, two hunters “experienced a likely week-long encounter.”

In all of Ohio, there have been 266 “incidents” reported to the organization.

This weekend, hundreds of believers will head to the Salt Fork State Park in eastern Ohio. The Ohio Bigfoot Conference will hold discussions about Sasquatch with the people who have dedicated their lives to finding it.

Cliff Barackman of Animal Planet’s “Finding Bigfoot”will be a key speaker.

Most of the sightings are in rural areas, but there have been reports in Central Ohio, too.

The last incident in Franklin County occurred in June of 1997 off Williams Road, according to BFRO. In August of 1989, hikers spotted a white Bigfoot at Highbanks Metro Park. In Fairfield County, a possible sighting in Clear Creek Metro Park in October, 2010.

Despite the reports, critics point out that there has yet to be any hard, scientific proof that the mysterious creature truly exists.

I would really like to get more involved, but I don’t know how people find the time or money? Especially if you’re a single mom with a career, children and their extra-curricular activities (baseball, football, band, and even Rubik ‘s cube competitions), several pets, and an X who is a “genius with a touch of madness”…perhaps when I retire …

I think if anyone here is “on the fence”, yet has the time, money, and interest, should go for it! The community needs all types of people!

They can say there is no “hard evidence” and it will get published/printed/heard. To the majority of those that don’t follow the topic as closely as we do, that’s all they need to hear to discount the existence of Sasquatch. Sheryl Atkinson coined the term “Astro Turfing” when we’re subjected to constant media/material on the internet that counters the truth (that people/companies don’t want you to know), opinions are swayed by false articles that are put at the front of Google Searches, people are intimidated by being shouted down and belittled by plants/trolls. This is what has been unleashed on people with views that Sasquatch exist or against people with encounters. Our government is corrupt and seems willing to treat people like they’re cattle fodder. Allowing women and children to go into our national parks/forests without telling them of the “potential” dangers is a crime. It’s happening all around us, I don’t need to see one to know that these things exists. Loyd Pye had it right, I wish the man was still alive, would have loved to go and see him speak in person. There are good/real scientists and there are bad ones, the bad ones are the ones on Government Grants or payroll, who argue points in support of a Political Agenda or Government Mandate. Would love for those scientists who “claim the non existence” of BigFoot to have their names recorded for history, then when the “inconclusive” evidence surfaces, have those names published as being the fools of science who did not open up their eyes and sold out to their employers. They can join the likes of people from histories past that denied the earth was round.

Well said.. And unfortunately the majority of scientist and high ranking officials are bought out to slander, skeptisize, criticize, manipulate, and go to extremes to make up intelligently spoken false explanations or what I like to call (the upper class lie) …. Scientists and people in high ranking positions will continue to lose there respect , and continue showing people , never to believe anything they say or what they write in a textbook… The only way to find truth is putting in your on foot work and research.. PERIOD

I have a question. I listened to coast sat night into sunday with Ron Moorehead. 4th hour 12 min in, a caller named Denise talked about playing the flute to draw them in. She used to call in to Art. I know you’ve backed off Wes and I understand, but is that where ‘flute player’ originated?
