The Confessionals: The Art of The Hoax

The Confessionals writes “In episode 696: The Art of The Hoax, Trey, the creator of the popular Instagram page @squatch_me_now, and his hoaxing partner, Brock, join to talk about an unorthodox topic, hoaxing Bigfoot.

Together, they explain the unanswered questions about Bigfoot videos, and why video evidence often falls short of expectations. Trey shares his insights from years of examining photographic and video evidence, addressing the challenges of capturing high-quality footage of such elusive creatures.

They also discuss their ongoing docuseries “Masters of the Hunt”, where they conduct groundbreaking experiments, including ethical hoaxing, to reveal just how difficult it is to fake a Bigfoot sighting. With Trey’s deep dive into the history of giants and Brock’s hands-on experience in Bigfoot costuming, this conversation takes a fascinating look at what it really takes to explore the phenomenon, and attempts to answer the biggest question surrounding Bigfoot sighting videos…Are they real?”

Thanks for sharing this one, it looks really interesting. Monsterquest did an episode on what it would take to hoax the Patterson Gimlinnfilm and determined it was not possible and the film was authentic. Dr. Meldrum also takes a critical review of the film and he also determined it was authentic in “Legend Meets Science”, finally in recent episodes of Les Stroud “Survivorman Bigfoot” Les attempts to hoax and presents just how hard and expensive it is, then Dr. Meldrum and Dr. Bindennagel (sp) quickly identity points they were uncomfortable with and concerned they were not real in the tracks he hoaxed but presented for review to them. The famous Freeman Film has also been scrutinized and determined to be authentic with the accompany footprint evidence. Hoaxes are hard and expensive but do happen unfortunately. Valid skepticism and recreations of events and examine for supporting or debunking evidence is worthy endeavor. The preponderance of scientifically established circumstantial and corroborating evidence points to there is something there. I believe in Bigfoot more than I believe Biden is actually the President. I would argue that skeptics spend time trying to prove Biden is actually working as President and show that proof! There’s less evidence of him being in control than there is of Bigfoot. Just saying.

It’s tough to hoax inhuman abilities, especially back in 1957 with the PG film. If you look at M.K. Davis’s breakdown here:

    https://youtu.be/5LkSPO4QCKA?si=4KCMYXGO_g2QvSa0

In one smooth motion the creature takes a step over a rock or (I’m guessing) a log with another apparent rock sitting on top of it. The perched rock that appears to be in the path of the foot stride literally ejects out to the side and back of the creature and cross body to the 4 o’clock position as the left foot gets near it or comes in contact with the foot. This object appears to go flying in my best guess maybe 10-12 feet through the air.

If the foot is 18” long, we could be talking about a stone 8”-12” long and several inches think (even with deductions for perspective as the object gets larger as it flys toward the camera). So, what would a river stone of that size weigh, 3-6lbs?

Whether it is indeed kicked with the side flick of the inner left foot, it happens so fast it isn’t caught within the frames. It’s also possible that the Rock 🪨 standing in its way (yes, that’s a metaphor) is cast aside in more of a poltergeist or spiritual way, some kind of force we don’t fully understand anyhow.

I don’t care if you take the worlds best soccer player or train a gorilla to kick things, I don’t care if you take what looks to me like a stone and replace it with a chunk of wood or treebark… For all we know about physical science with the abilities of man and creatures in our “natural” world this one feat is simply impossible. Now that’s a Big-feat, haha.

Those that think I’m lying, overly believing in Heaven and Hell, lumping too much of the unexplained together or just plain crazy, you can live in denial or keep laughing at me… I know a lot of this is hard to believe and I sympathize with that. All I can do is simply try to share the truth as I see or experience it (while in my opinion) I’m waiting for others to hopefully and eventually catch up. I could be wrong, aliens might be entirely different than dark spiritual entities, but I don’t have any reason to believe that yet.

I think in peoples minds they have separated the woods or “the bush” from populated areas to the point where even unexplained phenomenons feel the need to also change shape or form to make it convincing for us, while also simultaneously dividing us with our thoughts about it or various experiences with it, leaving us to fight amongst ourselves. The world has too much of that already. I hope we can someday agree to disagree peacefully or better yet, take each honest experience as a fact of “Oh they can do that too”.
Have a great day SC family!

    God bless 🙏🏼🌞❤️

696, wow! That’s the number you get when you do my intuitive math of degrees I just wrote about with the triangle of sightings around Harrisburg PA and DC, in the blog a week or so ago. 👀
Can the plot get any thicker?
So cool, thanks for posting this Wes!
If anyone can read this that is… Sometimes it feels as though I’m writing this for nothing with rarely ever a response.
