In Episode 333: Ghost Of The USS Forrestal, we are joined in the studio by Tony’s Uncle Mark as he discusses being stationed aboard the haunted USS Forrestal while serving in the Navy.
The USS Forrestal experienced a tragedy in the 1960s when a missile was mistakenly launched onboard, resulting in many fires that claimed the lives of over 160 men. One of the men who escaped death that day, only to be captured as a POW a few weeks later, was none other than former senator John McCain. Needless to say, this aircraft carrier has sailed with tragic baggage throughout its history. As time passed, rumors circulated of apparitions of past sailors appearing on the ship; one was even seen so often that the crew named him George. Mark shares some of ghost stories with us, and describes what life out at sea was like for all those years. We discuss why he believes he never witnessed a UFO despite his many years at sea, and he also tells us about living with his family in a haunted house in Massachusetts, where a former owner died and odd things occurred.
As a journalist in the Navy with over 20 years of service, Mark decided to pursue novel writing once he retired. He is now the established author of a book trilogy called the “Forever Avalon” series. Combining experiences from his Navy service with his love for sci-fi, he created a fantasy world that begins when a storm slams into a ship and pushes the characters onto an uncharted island – but not just any island. The family finds themselves in another world frozen in time, on the magical island of Avalon, a place of eternal magic where the descendants of King Arthur rule. And this is just where the “Forever Avalon” series begins!

It is the general idea in “science” that King Arthur was roman but there is actually no real evidence for that.
Every detail points to a medieval scenario around 1200 A.D.
The reason I think it must have a historic bases is that many places and events described
you’re actually able to locate.
Google: “Willehalm” of Wolfram from Eschenbach/ “Perceval”/ “Chanson d’Aliscans”…
Why should a story be invented and travel such a long ways?
Like the Bible it is at least very unlikely to be just invented, right?
To many details and places and to much attention over millennia.
King Artur sure was a Templar Knight fighting in the battle of hattin around 1187.
He fell in love whit Arabel while in prison… and the story goes on. check it out!

My husband served as a navy Airedale assigned to a squadron and was a firefighter in the navy on the west coast on a different carrier, 15 yrs of sea duty. No ghosts, no UFOs but he saw flying fish. They flew for a long time, he said. Great stories!!
