A listener writes “Wes, Good morning and hope all is well. Just to say I’m a huge fan of the show and been following you for a while.

This will be the first time I have spoken of this encounter.. Shook me a little bit after. And honestly have not been back to that campsite since.

So a friend of mine and myself had backpacked in around 5 miles in, into a primitive camp spot I had been going to for years.

Sitting around the campfire having dinner and drinks. And had the loudest scream/guttural growl I’ve ever heard. The sound was so loud I could feel it. It caused me to draw my firearm and start back peddling. Sticks were thrown, etc… my friend literally packed his gear up and walked back to the car in thr middle of the night and slept in the car. I didn’t leave i stayed in the tent.
So would love to talk about more.”
