The Beast Of Gum Hill

Andy O. writes “Hey Wes, Love all your podcasts I am a huge fan. The Clinch Mountain one peaked my interest cause I live in the area. Just to add a little context to it, this is the same mountain range just in VA”

The footage of The Beast Of Gum Hill while ATV riding on 04/05/09 at approximately 6:30pm. This is the 2nd time I have seen this creature/bigfoot called The Beast Of Gum Hill. This is the first time we managed to capture it on video. This is the first known video footage of the BOGH, there was a still photo taken in the early 80’s that I remember seeing . The camera used was a cheap digital VuPoint 5.0 With waterproof case that I use while filming my ATV rides. Local legend has talked about this non-aggressive, reclusive beast for a little over 100 years. The BOGH is around 7ft tall and guesstimated at 350 lbs.

I know a few people might say these types of footage are BS, but you hear so much about the big guys crossing the roads when a vehicle is near, so why would they not cross a stream not far from you??? Perhaps they are good at threat assessment and figure that we are no threat at all. OR maybe they know we are mostly like deer in the headlights when they show themselves. No threat to them when we are gob smacked!!!!

Any actual proof that it was fake? Seems real enough to me both what I can see of the ‘foot and what I can hear and see in the rxns of the atv-rider and the person yelling ‘what was that?’

I think you need to be equally skeptical of people’s claims/evidence for a sighting and people’s claims/evidence that a particular sighting was faked.

I actually wouldn’t be surprised if this was real as my sighting was less than 30 minutes away in Fincastle, VA! It’s on here to listen to! And I actually have a relative that use to have land in that area, he shared several encounters with me that his family had throughout the years before his parents sold the property and moved!

JUST ON THE TENNESSEE SIDE OF THE LINE, YOU WILL ENOUNTER BIGFOOT OR “BOOGERS” THAT LOCAL FOLKS CALL THEM. SPEND SOME TIME IN THE CLINCH AND BAYS MOUNTIAN. FOLKS HAVE KNOW ABOUT THEM FOR YEARS. THRU THE YEARS, SPRING AND FALL SEEM TO BE THE TIMES YOU WILL SEE AND HEAR THE MOST.
