Strange vocals recorded in Minnesota

The YouTuber writes “March 15, 2012 in St Louis County, Minnesota, a field investigator’s audio recorder captures the voices of four vocalizers, two in the background, and two in the foreground.

To the passive observer this might easily be dismissed as wolf howls. But closer scrutiny discloses a number of featurs typical of suspected sasquatch vocals captured across the breadth of North America. These include whoops, integrated wood knocks, a “moan” howl, pitch breaks and vowel transitions from /oo/ to /aa/. Widely held speculation suggests sasquatch employ mimicry in their vocalizations, possibly as a form of subterfuge. This recording would lend credibility to such a theory.”

Sounds wolf like in many places, but there are some very head scratching moments where it seems human-like maybe. Pretty nuts. Can you imagine hearing that at 4am in the woods? Creepers.

Sounds”wolfy”, but definitely Bigfooty. No doubt, just like other recordings. Possibly hunting, yelling and pushing game. Then others respond far away. Some coyote in the far distance and a little bit of an echo here and there. Have hunted in Santa Fe National Forest in ’87. Heard the exact same thing, but only one vocalization. Thought it was a wolf too, but after this….. That’s what I heard, was loud too!! Seemed about 200 yards away, filled the air with that sound. I immediately loaded my ’06 Remington Pump and kept an extra clip in my coat pocket. Took it in the tent that night. Just thinking about it now….

Fascinating. I try to imagine being out in a tent in the middle of the night and that going on. Scary. Was very interesting to listen too. Thanks Wes.

Wow! That is truly creepy. I’m a Minnesotan in Minneapolis and I’m going to have to find someone to go up north with me and do some investigating. St. Louis
county is big, but there are a couple of places that have
mutiple Sasquatch sightings. I want to go this weekend!
    Lol
Well, there is nothing better than a trip up north in summer, so I don’t think it will be too long…
    Thanks Wes!

Brett F: That is exactly what I was thinking. No camping for me. Day walks and day cook-outs will do it. The longer I am a member of Sasquatch Chronicles, the more I know that camping is pretty risky business. –Cassandra in Indiana

Recordings from 2012, I have heard them before. A few commenters that have hunted a lot say they are not wolves, for what this is worth. It would be beneficial if Sasquatch Bioacoustic had these analyzed by a real professional wolf / canine expert like Ron Morehead and Alan Barry did with the Sierra Sound. The metallic like sounds came through distinctly on my headphones. About the 9 minute mark was the trademark Ohio Howl, which I have and my wife also heard in the Huron National Forest. This strongly suggest to me these are Sasqautch carrying on and communicating for gosh knows what reason. If they were hunting, the deer and elk would be freaking, as would a human that would hear such sounds, only with 1000 percent better clarity than the recorder.

I have spent half my life in the bush, in the army. Always sleeping in an Armoured Personnel Carrier (M113 dozer). I would of liked to hear those sounds then. Not so sure now…in a tent!!!

Started playing this and my dog sat bolt upright and came and sat on my lap shaking like he does when there’s a storm, it took him till 3:10 before he reacted so just as the noises on the video got louder.

I have heard something similar to this . But way better. I have heard this sorta howl/yelll in one direction and timber wolves started up in another direction. And coyote in another. And a lone wolf like chain reaction.. scary stuff!! This is in the county where we live.. they move through our small town every fall..
