Strange Vocalizations From Wisconsin

A listener writes “It was near Hayward, Wisconsin on Lost Land Lake. September 17th 2022 at 2 A.M. We were on the dock fishing, myself and two friends. No fire, red headlamps. Dark and silent night, with a bright moon peeking through dense clouds. Suddenly this humanoid/primate wooOOP. WooOOP. WooOOP.

Repeated three times. Insanely loud, and massive chest. Couldn’t have been further then 100 yards. A few moments later, we heard what almost sounded like children chatting from the other side of the lake. Humanoid/primate, but tiny and further away. On the edge of hearing. Very bizarre.

It wasn’t until a few minutes after this event just when all the forest noises came back, we realized even the crickets stood quiet during this encounter.

Tried to recreate the noise the next evening, and we couldn’t come close in volume and depth. It wasn’t a threatening or violent tone, but exceptionally intimidating. Whatever made that noise was massive.

Also have experiences witnessing weird lights in the sky, through the woods, in the water with other witnesses. This occurred this past summer, on a lake deep in the Northwoods of Wisconsin.

Around 10pm, while walleye fishing in the center of the lake (pretty far from shore), I noticed a dancing green light just above the water quite literally right in front of me. It was tiny, like a bug.. I watched it for a few moments, and pointed it out to my dad who saw it as well. My first thought was a firefly, but those are typically yellow not lime green. It was too dark to see anything other then the dancing light.

After a few moments, the light then went straight down into the water. I could see the green light fade as it went deeper and deeper into the black water. No splash or noise of any kind. My dad said “Now that’s bizarre.”

Now we’re talking about my neck of the woods. People are really reserved about sharing these kinds of stories around here unless they feel really comfortable doing so.

From my skeptical/knower point of view, my first thought is that firefly can be yellowy green, but they don’t stay constantly lit up… it really depends on how long the sighting lasted. You’d have to look into typical firefly behavior and decide for yourself if it could have been a firefly that accidentally hit the water and was then carried away by a small fish… but if it lasted longer… who knows.

There are lots of sightings of strange lights in the area, all kinds of different sizes and colors and some are pretty decent size, I’ve personally heard the ones that actually got close to people as big as a softball… I’ve seen a few myself within 40 yards… mostly from 10 cent dime size or slightly smaller, to the size of about a golf ball… the largest one was at a further distance (quarter mile or less?) that was definitely larger… that one was a blinding white, but it just hovered silently maybe a few hundred feet over a cattle farm. I got tired of not seeing it do anything so I left… I did take some video of it but it honestly isn’t very good… maybe I’ll try to lighten up the video and see if it helps.

I’ve heard witnesses say they saw multiple ones together, flying low to the ground and then following them with voices that repeated what they were saying (but in a different and more slightly electronic sounding voice, not like an echo). They were pretty shook up about it and it was multiple witnesses while camping… apparently one of the witnesses disappeared about a month later and nobody knows what happened and never heard from her again over the years… it never made the news, not even locally.
    Welcome to Wisconsin!

Hello, this is my story. It stated illuminated constantly, at least for a few minutes (3-5). It was an odd little event that stuck with me, and when I posed this story to reddit this podcast was suggested to me. Little did I know this was far from my first encounter.

Very creepy on the last bit on the orbs following. I don’t want to encounter this.

There was an encounter I had that he didn’t mention in this post, while doing astrophotography a few of the pics didn’t turn out, out of focus. But in the frame is an object in focus, obviously 3d as parts of it were covered in shadow, and it appears to be a .. lump, or a nodule, with pits and lumps on it. Almost like an asteroid, but it had to hold still for 30 seconds on the long exposure.

Ever hear of anything like this?

Lots of weird sounds here too… lots of weird everything you would logically think shouldn’t be here or even exist in general, but it does… and seeing it first hand… it’s almost impossible to prepare yourself for. A friend and I heard what sounded so close to the “Ohio howl” it gave me chills when I heard that recording much later after the experience… trees falling at dark, the whole bit, even a weird humanoid looking glow thing… same evening, same area. I’ve wrote about it before on here somewhere. It’s the reason I initially joined and continue to be a loyal member of SC for several years now…I didn’t know where else to go back then and stumbled onto SC when I got laid up with chicken pox as an adult…”laid up- chicken pox”…never mind… true though.
It’s as good and better than ever.
    Thank you Wes.

    Hi! It’s me again…
I almost forgot to remind everyone to look for those Quadrantids meteors. Supposed to be pretty visible with a clear sky in the Northern hemispheres until about the 6th I believe near the Big Dipper. It’s been nothing but cloudy here since I saw some strange lights mingled into and around the obvious straight flying meteors… I sarcastically say “clouds…imagine that”. It’s pretty cool to watch even you don’t witness anything strange and the meteors go by every few seconds or so from what I saw. Thanks everyone!

My parents had a camper at the Reel Livin’ campground just out of Hayward for years, in fact this will be their first year that they won’t be there anymore. Anyway, there’s a small bar at the campsite and one of the bar tenders told them (and eventually me) about her sighting. She had picked her kids up from school and was on a back road heading home. It was dark out and the dirt road was heavily wooded. She saw what she thought was a bear on the side of the road. As she passed slowly by it stood up. She yelled to her kids “did you see that?”, but they had both been looking at their phones (surprise, surprise, huh?). They begged her to turn the car around so she did. As she was driving towards where she had last passed it it was at full height walking right at the edge of the road and walked right past her car. She was an extremely credible witness and had never believed in Bigfoot before this sighting. I saw her face and listened intently. She didn’t even know that there are podcasts dedicated to telling people’s stories. This happened about 8 years ago I think. 😳
