Strange & Unsolved Disappearances From Yosemite National Park

Swamp Dweller writes “Yosemite National Park has one of the highest rates of missing people in the entire country. Thousands upon thousands of people come to visit this beautiful park. Unfortunately, though, it seems not everyone who comes to Yosemite leave. These are only 5 of the many unsolved disappearances from the Yosemite National Park.”

I used to go to Yosemite 3X’s per year. One time after leaving The Majestic Yosemite hotel I decided to take a walk all around Mirror Lake. Something was telling me not to go but I did anyway. Needless to say, I never got to walk around that lake that day or any other day. It was almost like I was being push back so not to go forward. First time I felt that feeling and never have since. Yosemite has the largest number of missing people then anywhere else in the US, as per Missing 411. ps: I went and bought a personal beacon transponder. If you hike a lot you should look into one or just for traveling too. It will bring the Calvary within 10ft of you. Hopefully!

I shudder to think of all the times I hiked alone without a care in the world. I really feel for their families. I can’t imagine what they have been through to never know what happened to their loved one.

HELL, I DON’T EVEN GO TO WORK WITHOUT WEARING MY SIDEARM AND LOCKING IT IN MY DESK WHEN I GET THERE.. MUCH LESS GOING OUT TO THE LANDS OF “MONSTERS IN THE WOODS”.

Never be alone/ last in line at Yosemite sheesh, just so sad and bizarre how many have went poof. To me though, it leans into the parks department not being open enough with us. They have a “main” vested interest and we all know what that is, so hey keep on bringing us in all the while not knowing better. Nah not me baby, i won’t take your word for it that things are ok!

Last fall I went for a wee hike alone, but after everything I’ve learned, decided to not go so far into the woods, that is, stayed on the main thoroughfares. I gotta say, it’s eerie now, and as I dipped in and around the river, picking berries and taking pictures, I didn’t have that care free feeling I used to get. That’s actually a good thing I reminded myself. Thanks for posting this kinda stuff Wes. Lord only knows how many lives have been spared by SC and Wes. Always, good job.
