A listener writes “My friend and I would like to tell you about our experience that happened east of Rome Ohio in the late summer or early fall of 2008.
My friend his girlfriend and I were camping at his grand parents secluded property at the base of a mountain and about 100-150 yards from the Ohio river where the original owner had started building her castle before they died a long time ago. It all started for us on an early evening when we decided to hike up the mountain a ways and try to find where they used to get the rocks for their castle. We got what seemed like halfway up and found a rocky out crop, so we stopped to take a break and look around.
Before we started back down the mountain I dared my buddy to carve his name into the rock face, (the reason i dared him is because we thought it could be haunted from the past residents and when ghost hunters became popular) so he started and got the k carved and started on the e when out of nowhere we heard the loudest God awful scream like sound that came from between us and our camp site. Our hearts stopped and jaws dropped, we stood there staring at each other trying to figure out what that was that we just heard. First thing we thought was some kind of banshee or something.
But trying to be reasonable we decided That there was a person down there screaming. The sun was setting and we were so freaked we decided to double time it down the mountain, we got about 30 yards when a pack of coyotes started going crazy and howling at us so we almost started running at that point. As we were going down the mountain as fast as we could without falling the coyotes were catching up to us fast from the right and about 3/4 way down we heard sticks breaking and wrestling to our left.
We seemed to be surrounded. Finally got off the mountain, the camp site was untouched we jumped in his car and sped to his grandparents house and told them. As they knew strange stuff has happened there before I don’t think they believed us. We went back later had a fire and went to bed. We heard a few sounds that night but we chalked it up to raccoons or small critters.
We were watching A t.v. show last year about Bigfoot and heard the same exact scream to the T we turned to each other and our jaws dropped again, we haven’t talked about that night in years but when we heard that same sound on tv we knew that second what we heard was a sasquatch. Now my dad is a huge fan of yours and turned me on to your show a few weeks ago. He was telling me that my grandpa his dad might be having encounters right now.
He lives in a trailer about ten miles from the Smokey mountains in Tennessee. I guess every once in awhile real late at night my grandpa says a huge black man keeps tapping on the outside and the Windows of his trailer so he grabs his gun turns on the lights opens the door and yells at him, thats when he sees him. He says its a huge black man with his hood up in all black and it runs away when he opens the door and yells. My girlfriend was telling me about a story when she was a young teen her and a friend was walking through her parents woods in central Indiana where they were grunted at and followed out of the woods. She said they never seen anything but just heard something.”

Good story, but I’ll tell you those coyotes are scary to me especially when there’s more than one. I read where two coyotes killed a young woman in Canada on a jog through a park then ran out two more joggers that found her, they said they were very big!

Hello Listener. Another Ohio encounter. By golly a lot of that on the Sasquatch Chronicles as of late. The Rome area is down in Adams County. There is a gentleman down in Adams, a wealthy man into Dairy and other venues that has funded Todd Standings research in the past, however I think that has ended. He owns and is sourronded by about 9000 acrea that also joins a National Forest. He has told me of his brother seeing boogers on that property. Wayne and Dallas as have operated in this area I believe. Just a rich history of sightings down there and congratulation on joining the list. I hope your adventure makes the show. Sometime in the near future a buddy and myself will be close. We are planning a motorcycle road trip down to the newly re opened Rabbit Hash General Store, then cut across the lower Covington Metropolitan area on back roads over to Maysville to cross the Ohio once again and over to Ripley to head home. I will definitely being keeping my eyes peeled in your area, especially at dusk. I doubt my buddy will, he thinks I am nuts. Maybe he is correct.

Omg I hunt not far from that. That’s great habitat and plenty of food ie deer. I don’t know what the relationship is with coyotes but I think the 2 youtes and bf go hand in hand?? I have been treed by a pack of yotes before in the morning walking to my stand. They smelled me …I smelled like deer urine and deer herd in a stick so I know why they came after me. Maybe if you go coyote hunting and night in the bf area and call you can call in the local bigfoots? It’s worth a try if you know they are in the area. I bet you for every hunter that has come on Wes show there are 5 more that have seen something and will never open their mouth outta fear of shame.

Love these Ohio encounters. .. being from a small rural Ohio town (900 people ) and living in a wetland ..I like to compare notes . Have had some “things” happen and heard that we lean toward Sasquatch .. One day I will put them in an orderly fashion and shoot themover to you Wes and see what you think . Great shows Wes as always !!!
