The short clip was filmed in Big Bend State Park, a West Texas gem filled with wildlife.I didn’t know these critters could crawl across the water’s surface that way. Their eight legs served as paddles and it’s really a miraculous work of nature.

Yeah – could you imagine you had been swimming underwater and popped up to see that coming toward your face…
The command: “DIVE! DIVE! DIVE!” never had more meaning… 😉

A few are around East Texas. When I was young, one the size of a dinner plates, hopped across I 45. That was freaky!!!
BTW, they jump pretty high. Yuck

I can’t watch this, I will have nighmares. Caught a huge spider in the kitchen sink and dreamt about it. Rather a nightmare!

Come visit AZ. Not only do we have tarantulas but also tarantula hunting wasps. First time you see one of those..whew.

I have a Tarantula lure I use for fishing, caught some pretty big Bass with it too. Made it after looking for one commercially. Growing up as kids, we used to stick johnson grass stalks down their hole and when they bit we would pull them up. Toss a small pickle jar over them and take them home as a new pet. I would lose them after a month or so when my grand mother found them. I would find the jar open out in the yard and chopped up pieces of tarantula everywhere from her hoe.
