February 23, 2020 – Cowlitz County Deputies responded to a sea lion in the roadway, far from its normal waters. Garlock Rd, near Castle Rock, Washington.
Sheriff’s deputies in southwest Washington helped a lost sea lion get back to its natural habitat Sunday.
Cowlitz County deputies were called about the lost sea lion on Garlock Road in Castle Rock. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife responded and helped get the sea lion into a cage so it could be transported back to water.

Well that was cute. I wonder how it got so far from the Puget Sound, or the river that connects to it, the Columbia. That’s a very pretty area.

He was cute and he didn’t look like he wanted to get in that cage, lol. I suppose he was hoping to become a forest lion ?

I have a buddy that lives near there. The sealions follow the salmon/steelhead/sturgeon even farther upstream than that. It is a really bad issue and sadly culling is the only thing that works. The dams we made give the sea lions an easy meal.
