Strange News: Great White Shark Attacks Boat

A group of German tourists got the shock of a lifetime when a hungry great white attacked their boat. These images show the 12ft female savaging the side of the vessel, causing part of it to deflate. The attack took place off the coast of Mossel Bay in South Africa. The tourists had been on a sightseeing expedition to watch seals when the shark turned up. Rainer Schimpf, who organised the tour, believes the shark mistook the boat for a dead whale.

If I’m not mistaken that’s where Discovery films the great whites jumping out of the water that you see during Shark Week. That seems like a good place to take an inflatable boat. Next time can I go diving there too. There really needs to be a sarcasm font,

Why didn’t he beat the hell outta it’s head with oar , or stick it with that gaff deep and just let go of the gaff with it stuck in her head, or carry an appropriate shotgun.

    Yikes!!!
I fish out of a raft on the Oregon coast often, and the grey, ribbed bottom looks very much like a whale.
I’ve considered, painting a big toothy face on the bottom?
I do always have some “lethal force” onboard, but what a scary experience!

I saw that online & thought why are they not wacking the thing with anything they can get in their hands. Duh! & yes, I’d be outta there asap. I hate sharks…

Awe, yes the unpredictable nature of nature! I recently scratched, yes scratched, a grey whale in the sea of Cortez. Probably one of the coolest and dumbest things I’ve ever done! Funny how you think you’re safe on a boat! A beat they were freaking out!
