Strange Green Sphere Seen

A listener writes “Hello Wes. I’m writing to tell of an experience with a green sphere. I was going to college at the time and my job was at Enrico’s diner on Broadway.

I would get off work at 2:30-3:00 am and go home and go up on the roof of this 12 story apartment building to unwind. Looking north I could see Alcatraz, the upper towers of the G.G. bridge and the dark hump of Angel Island. Looking south was the slope up to Pacific Heights. We lived on Vallejo St. in Cow Hollow or as we liked to call it Lower Pacific Heights. I was standing there facing north when out of my left peripheral I noticed movement.

I looked that way and seen a green sphere moving about a meter a second headed north. The sphere continued north and I watched it till I lost sight of it in the street lights. The green sphere was a little larger than a soccer ball, but not as big as a basketball. The sphere was kelly green with some dark splotches here and there. It appeared to have a nucleus the size of a soft ball which radiated green light. The interesting part was the light was contained in what I would call a perfect glass sphere or some other material. The height of the movement was hip high.

This was a purely clinical observation as I felt no threat or joy. This was in 1986 and still today I wonder what it was and about. I’m not someone who jumps to any conclusions as that does not have logical consistency or empirical adequacy.”
