Timothy and Alison present the story of GFGE Thomas, a hermit who lived on a remote section of the battlefield in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Was he a practicing folk magician? Who or what tormented him in his lonely abode?
Two years after the hermit’s death, his cabin burnt down under mysterious circumstances – and his ghost was said to haunt Wolf Hill. Jon and Timothy head to Wolf Hill and find the foundation of Thomas’s cabin, along with his well. Chad and Timothy return and locate a cave in which the hermit stayed before he built his cabin.

(New Jersey) I’m almost always “scared away” when I see a presentation that’s over 2 hours long, or there about. Nevertheless, if anyone listens to this lengthy video, and feels charitable enough to give a quick summary, I’d be Happy to listen. Thanks

I listen to these things a bit at a time, meaning, listen, pause, listen pause.
It’s about a German immigrant that built a home in the woods in the wilderness, then got strange after his wife died. He was called a hermit because he lived alone and was old. He had a pet chicken. And a cat, plus a dog that toted his cart around, while the man picked up various stuff he then sold.
He died by suicide, they say, in much the same way Robin Williams did. It said he showed a struggle, but was obviously a suicide. The hermit man had complained to the in town constable that people living in the woods were harassing’ him.
The authorities went through the attic and entered that way. Who is to say this wasn’t a murder? I’m always suspicious of this kind of thing. They said he was an old man. He was 65 years or there about. I guess that was considered very old back then. He had been dead about three days, and no other signs of entry was there, or anyone else. His backside was almost on the floor. Strange way to hang one’s self. But, I digress.

So they go out, Timothy and his friend, I think this time was Jon, then Chad. Rumor has it that the “old man hermit” haunts the road and area. They found the site of his foundation, and well, also, the little cave he stayed in while building the cabin. I just don’t get it. The man was a Christian, a veteran, an immigrant from Germany who was from Maryland, then moved he and his wife to the property he bought. He had been complaining of people in the woods harassing him, but it was shrugged off. I mean, come on. Who has a vest with money sewn into it, if not afraid of being robbed? Plus, the authorities’ had to go through the attic to get into thee dead man’s house. Couldn’t the murder leave that way as well? I feel like he was murdered, but that’s just me.
