Stephen Hawking Predicted a Race of ‘Superhumans’

Stephen Hawking made terrifying predictions of the future. Based on science, the late British physicists predicted several things that could happen on Earth, from the rise of powerful Artificial intelligence to fearful robots poised to destroy humankind. Hawking also spoke about how it was dangerous to search for aliens and how global warming could destroy Earth as we know it.

However, Stephen Hawking also spoke about how abrupt advances in genetic science could lead to creating a future generation of superhumans that could eventually destroy humanity as we know it.

In recently published papers, Prof. Hawking predicted that an elite class of physically altered, intellectually powerful humans could come into existence from rich people choosing to edit their existing DNA and manipulate future generations’ genetic markup.

In excerpts from his final book of essays, – Brief Answers to the Big Questions, considered the last message from Stephan Hawking to humankind, the British scientist warned: “We are now entering a new phase of what might be called self-designed evolution, in which we will be able to change and improve our DNA.”

“We have now mapped DNA, which means we have read ‘the book of life,’ so we can start writing in corrections.”

Hawking suggests genetic changes “will be confined to the repair of genetic defects.”

Rather than helping to unite society, Hawking believed as science and technology improve, the ability to self-design people will eventually divide us into different groups of people.

“I am sure that during this century, people will discover how to modify both intelligence and instincts such as aggression,” Professor Hawking wrote.

“Laws will probably be passed against genetic engineering with humans. But some people won’t be able to resist the temptation to improve human characteristics, such as the size of memory, resistance to disease, and length of life.”

Professor Hawking warned that the ‘elites’ who will have access to this type of advanced genetic augmentation could collide with natural humans. The contest between superhumans and ordinary humans could cause serious issues in our society.

“Once such superhumans appear, there are going to be significant political problems with the unimproved humans, who won’t be able to compete,” Professor Hawking suggested.

“Presumably, they will die out or become unimportant. Instead, there will be a race of self-designing beings who are improving themselves at an ever-increasing rate.”

I don’t mean to sound religious, you probably won’t believe me but I’m not. However, I do believe in every single one of the statements below contains truth. I don’t think you have to take the bible and study every single word. However I do think that love is the answer and we obviously don’t know how to love as Jesus did, but, we are also offered the solution to that, ask from the heart how to.

Compassion is a form of love, mercy is a form of love, gratitude is a form of love, appreciation is a form of love, forgiveness is a form of love.

Ask yourself, how could Jesus look out and say “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.”

    John 15:12
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

    Jeremiah 29:13
You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

    Matthew 7:8
For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

    Matthew 18:19
Again, I tell you truly that if two of you on the earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven.

CJM: So why are you posting this then? It has nothing to do with what Stephen Hawking said. If there is a connection in your opinion make it obvious. Tell us what you mean otherwise maybe don’t bother to post.

In my short time as a member, I’ve noticed some people here grousing about what others post, but none of them are named Wes.
Maybe just suck it up and worry about your own shit.

@ David T, Sorry I probably didn’t fully communicate my thoughts well. How it relates to Stephen Hawking, he really is only relating a very sinister view of the future. You need not fill the future with nightmares. Maybe you didn’t notice but the whole viewpoint/projection is without love. I certainly did not point that out.

I’m not against science, but science often, well people in general often do not look with love upon one another, we approach each other more like snarling dogs or at least with suspicion rather than well wishing or good will. I am not referring to someone you know but a stranger.

I guess my point is, we need to temper everything with love, to be able to look or project with love towards our future decisions or else we end up with nightmares.

Everyone does have to decide for themselves, but imo our future prosperity, well being, and continuation as a species needs to develop the ability to include love in its decisions, and a lack of love is likely responsible for the troubles that we currently face now as well as future endeavors. And that’s how what I posted relates to the piece of Hawking’s predictions.
