Sounding like a “demon screaming her lungs off”

A listener wrote me “Love your show. On your recent episode, EP:198, at the 44 and 54 min mark you spoke of trip to Texas and hearing the female sasquatch going off, sounding like a “demon screaming her lungs off.” Haha! NO THANK YOU!

A buddy of mine, Mike, told me that when he was around 12 (40 years ago now), he went camping with his boyscout troop on a wooded farm area along the Indiana / Ohio border. They had set up camp not too far from a barn and old farm house down the gravel road a ways. The owner had recently bagged a buck and had it tied up, on the barn’s hay loft rope and block and tackle pulley. Around midnight as these kids were sitting around the campfire, they suddenly hear this racket down by the barn and they shined their flashlights to see a huge monster 8 1/2 – 9 feet tall trying to pull the deer down off that rope. He said it was about the snap the beam right off that barn!

I must give you some background. My buddy, Mike, who I have known for years and we’ve traveled a lot together and shared many stories of life adventures, NEVER told me this story for about 10 years of being very close to him. He knew NOTHING about sasquatches / bigfoot. NOTHING. OTHER THAN HE SAW ONE!

He described it as a HUGE MONSTER, with red glowing eyes. Quite a story.

The reason I’m contacting you….  Mike went back to that area probably 15 years later and camped out there with a friend. It was cold, light snow on the ground. In the middle of the night he was suddenly awakened with an ear-piercing, shrieking and screaming… Mike described it sounded like “a witch getting a 16 penny nail hammered into her ear!”   Hahahaha! (Mike is a carpenter). He tore out of his sleeping bag and never bothered to put his clothes, boots, shoes, socks on. He tore off running for his life!”

hey kid’s, ,,when you go out into the strange places, especially those places that have a propensity for, hair raising, nail in the ear-witch type screaming, it’s a very good thing to have the right Carpenter with you. Any-hoot, cool story! It’s little wonder why some of the old tribes’ called them mountain devils!

Great story and very creepy. A group of young Boy Scouts see a real live monster 40 some odd years ago and likely never or rarely ever relate the tale. This story makes me think there are thousands of similar stories out there that have never been told.

That is a great story! Don’t know how I missed it, but I did. I bet that did scare them. Wonder what the farmer thought about his “neighbors”? Thank you for this account,
