SC Shorts: The Murderers Creek Incident

This is from episode 679, The Murderers Creek Incident. Murderer’s Creek, Oregon was named in the 1860s, or so the story goes, after a party of eight prospectors who were exploring its banks were murdered. On tonight’s show a group of hunters have a couple of run ins with a creature who has been watching them.

    That damn unit!

I was there last year and I saw eye shine on the opposite side of the creek (about 10-12 feet in the air, I also checked the spot where I saw the eye shine the next morning), heard what I assume was a male and female hunting (the octaves were clearly different and distinctive) about 2 am because they were hollering back and forth but were clearly moving towards each other and…The real coup de gras was when I was yelling “hey” at my dog to stop rolling (all dogs love rolling in foul smelling stuff), grabbed him (he’s small) got him on leash and started walking back to camp, something, and not a person, as I walked along the logging road said to me, as it was on the hill to my right, “hey”! I knew what it was because at this point it was obvious they were there. I said loudly, I’m not interested in conversing with you, please just leave us alone. I didn’t hear or see anything else after that and we stayed for four more days.

That area is teeming with critters, livestock included. We drove up a granite peak and into some thick super eerie foliage. I remember this episode and this area would be prime for finding Sasquatch…. If you were brazen enough to take on such an endeavor.

I’m not going to that unit this season but I will try again next year.
