SC EP:262 Skeptic turned investigator

 

Tonight I will be speaking to Mark who is from Southern California and had an encounter over a year ago. Mark moved to Washington state and went out with a friend to try hunting for the first time east of Seattle, Washington. I know the area well, and have recently received many reports from this area.

Mark saw a creature who stood up and looked directly at him, and had a great description of what he saw. Mark says “I could not believe what I was looking at, I never believed in this before and didn’t care about the topic.”

The men decided to go to the area where he saw the creature, and they found where the creature had been laying down, as well as large, human-like tracks. Mark and his friend have returned to the area almost every weekend for the last year and have had other encounters with the creatures. Mark says “I have just become obsessed with this, I feel like I need answers.”

Mark invited wildlife biologist, John Bindernagel out to the area and John was so impressed he gave Mark a plot watcher to set up. Mark has sent me some of the evidence that he has collected, and has also sent the Olympic Project his audio to have it reviewed. Mark says “We have seen the creatures on several occasions and I am working on getting some clear video of them, I have recorded strange chatter, whoops, screams, roars and yells.”

He was able to capture them on video as the creature was ducking down between two trees and sent me the still frames from that video. Mark says “I want to gather all of the evidence and work on getting them better on film before I release it to the public.”

Tonight Mark shares with us the encounters he has had in this area and even an encounter where he was charged by one.

            The way he told it was up there with “the insider” shows. Which if you members haven’t checked out I strongly suggest a dark room and a head set. Absolutely infactating. Great job Wes.

          Why can’t you post the pictures that this guy has shared with you?

          Episode 237 and now this Episode 262 is saying that they have Pictures and Videos of the creatures?

          Don’t you think if the two brothers had 6 bigfoots out in front of his house he could work on taking videos and getting pictures of the creatures.

          The most frustrating for us as believers is stories like this because we naturally want to share these episodes and stories and the first thing people say then show me the pictures show me the videos let me listen to the audio?

          Its’s time to call all these guys to the carpet and ask them for the proof?

        Yep; that’s exactly it. Funny that we’re all so hooked, we know every one of these podcasts haha!

        My one qualm with his whole story is saying he never was a hunter or anything, but then expressed his ownership and clear affinity for and knowledge of guns and ammo. Just seemed odd. I get that some folk have guns and don’t hunt. But, dunno, just struck me funny, is all..

          On Vic’s show, he’d mentioned he was Navy. Having been military, I thought it odd how he lost control and began shooting like a madman from an old ‘Nam movie. I dunno. I haven’t seen Bigfoot, so I can’t armchair-judge until I’ve walked in those shoes.
          Personally, I think I’d forget to shoot the damn gun, but would remember to piss all over myself. Go figure.

            Very good points, Renee and Karey. I suppose if he’s Navy, he would have a better base understanding of weapons and their accoutrements. But, yes, it was his, “I’m from Southern California; never, ever hunted or nothin’ like that …. ” then goes into, “So, I had my .44 mag in my backpack, but my AR-15 with an extended-clip on the floor…” like whoa man, sounds like you definitely have a history with those weapons.

            Just surprising. But, really, it was his coy mention of, “I don’t think I can MAKE money from this…” and trailed off. And, then immediately replied to Wes’ discussion of a FLIR through the tent-siding with, “Well, yeah, once I get some money together…”

            I think he’s trying to make something from this. It would be neat for someone to compare and contrast his stories from the 3 podcasts. Somehow–and this means nothing–I don’t recall anything about his being struck on the back in the other episodes he was on.

            Honestly, whenever a witness claims physical contact, I’m awful skeptical. I cannot imagine a wild animal just giving you a bump… They don’t know how. They either bluff charge, or they charge charge. The second doesn’t end with a light tap, warning hit. You get mauled, and maybe you live if you’re lucky enough and tough enough.

            Just like that kid who claimed to be tossed headlong into a tree… but, had no physical damage from it. Just seems … off, to me.

            Just my 2 cents, of course. Always entertaining. In all sincerity, I think 98 percent of the stories are either outright BS, exaggerations, or honest mistakes. There’s only a few I’ve ever heard that I truly was like, “Hmmmmmm…..I sincerely cannot explain that, and this guy/lady is not lying.”

            I just love the stories, real or false. But, don’t like charlatans.

      I thought the same, too, I do believe the story was from Brenton Sawin’s program.This guy has a few similar circumstances and elements of a few guests of Wes’s last few shows. Wow!

      it was on another sasquach podcast last week.. I thought it was familar too. then I remembered he was retired military and disabled. and was stationed in Everett or something like that.

    Makes you really think – why keep going if you are that scared? I don’t know that I’d go with someone that “trigger happy”, he could have hit anyone shooting like that. And his partner sleeps through most of it, huh. Good details, though, and sure interesting… he keeps returning. Gotta give him credit.

    Firing into the woods reminds me of that scene from “Predator”……I think pumping 30 rounds into the forest is a good deterrent if you have no other choice….BF knows guns = bad….damn dirty apes! I wonder why BF don’t rip through tents…..seems like they are warded off by the unknown of what’s inside….because 600 pounds of Sasquatch versus 5-10 pounds of nylon…..I don’t get it why they don’t rip into tents but you rarely hear about them ripping into tents. And that guys partner is wayyyyyy to much of a sound sleeper…he’s gonna get his head popped off! One of the best shows…..

      Well I am only Stating the Obvious ………. They are Nocturnal. Their Eyes adjust for the Lack of Sunlight ( I am Certain )
      But where I do not find as much Acceptance. If This is the Other Manner of People the Native Americans Speak of – the same People the Bible Calls Esau. The Way I See it Jacob ( Human Sapiens ) was a Dweller of Tents. But His Brother , The Wild Man of the Field; He Lives in the Field – The Cunning Hunter.
      These Hairy People tend to Leave those in the Tents alone. It is Fascinating !

    No he was on v ics bf eyewitness radio. Awesome interview. Thats why I listen to sas chronicles cause you hear shows heard nowhere else but sometimes one slips through the cracks. No big deal it happens. Thanks mark and wes.

      I really want to believe 100% of this but I think this is a prime example of why this show works so well. Wes, even though several parts don’t pass the “sniff test”, we are allowed to be left to draw our own thoughts and conclusions knowing that you are going to pull through by asking all the right questions that matter…EVERY TIME.
      Mark, we appreciate your service to the country and your field of research. Obviously you are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for your purpose and that is admirable. What you are doing is not safe but you keep going back….why? There is value to your life; make sure this is worth it. Take care and thank you for the amazing story!

    Mark, I really believe the juvenile pushed you for the same reason you shot into the woods the 1st time, he was scared, you made him loose control of his bowels, and he was angry/embarrassed and he wanted to take “control” back. That being said you are a brave son of a gun, as I’m not sure I could camp in that area (or anywhere else for that matter) after being physically attacked. Please be safe and thanks for sharing your hard won knowledge with the rest of us.

    One more point:
    The part about them finding the “dinner plate” of slugs and mushrooms bothered me – and then I remembered – that same scene was in “Shrek” where he eats a slug.
    Don’t buy it.

    I understand why he keeps back there ,he said he wants answers, but I think ,he looking for ,what we are all looking for the truth ,and I think he’s trying to get positive proof ,in the beginning they were having food off him ,so we’re very tolerant of them ,but I think the charges at his tent was a sure sign of they starting to lose interest and want them gone , and to be left in peace maybe , I hope for marks wellbeing that they don’t turn violent ,again another great episode mark be safe bud

    Hey Wes, thanks for the great shows. If people are willing and asking to converse about certain activities/areas and they are willing, is it possible to do a show where we can listen in? I know it may be impossible and I know nothing about broadcasting , it’s just a question. Although he was on another show I did pick up a few details that either I missed or were not said.         I don’t think we would have fortune of hearing his story, if he was in east Texas/southeast Oklahoma. Did you see how their behavior changed when he was out by himself?

    That guy, “Vic” is such a ripoff your show Wes. He is a poser and I refuse to be a fan. I admit I’ve ventured there when I’m caught up on all the new episodes here, but God I hate his monotone voice and mannerisms.

      Vic is great, and a total original. He’s been doing Dogman Encounters for as long as SasChron has been around. He also had this guest first so…. Honestly, there’s no competition about these shows. Not like you have to choose. Bummer when the guests are shopping their stories, though. Specifically, when he said, “I don’t THINK I can make money on this….so….”

          Well there Doc ! I Just Happen to Have the Narcolepsy ! ( I think it was a result of this Motorcycle Accident ? As No One in My Family recalls anyone THEY Knew of Relations with This Condition ? ) ( And like 96 % of the People who Have Narcolepsy have had some type of Brain Trauma ? )
          And While I was Working in the Oil Field I have had Employers tell me ” MAN ! I Have Never Seen ANYONE that can sit down & Shut Their Eyes …. And Be Sleeping in 4 Seconds ! But MAN Let Me Tell YOU ! After We are Done Smoking our Cigarettes & It is time to go Back To Work ? – WATCH OUT When Carlsen Opens His Eyes ! Because it’s Like MAN ! His Batteries have Been Recharged ! I have Never Seen Anything Like IT ! ”
          Or My Drill Pusher who accused Me of Having the Narcolepsy …… Before I KNEW What It Was ? ( I always thought that
          ” THIS ” Was what Having the Head Injury was all About ! ) And I berated His Opinion as He had NO LETTERS In front of HIS NAME ? It is a Head Injury & there really isn’t Anything I can do about it .
          That is Until I got Married & My Wife Did Not Understand why I would fall Asleep when She was Driving . My Aunt who is a RN Told me to go have it Checked out , And Sure as Shit ! I Got IT !
          To THIS DAY It Makes Me Cringe every time I tell someone of My Condition & they are enamored bye It ? or say Stupid Shit like ” Man ! I wish I could Fall Asleep so Easy ! I Wish I HAD THAT ! ” I have never Viewed it like that. It makes Me Different – And I do not care for that.
          ( But after my Employer did say that ? I Agree With Him ! When I Open My Eyes – I am Like a NEW MAN ! READY TO GO!

    Mark. I’ve read and heard several accounts of people having encounters and shortly after, bigfoot shows up at their home which is several if not more miles away. It may be possible that after your first encounter they got your scent and remember you shooting your gun towards them. I wonder if that is why the attacks have been directed at you and not your friend. These attacks have been really aggressive and what worries me is that one day the bigfoot may not stop his attack on you. I think you should continue your research if you want but I would strongly consider not going within 20 miles of that first encounter area. Don’t mean to scare you but felt strongly that I should write you.
    After all that, want you to know I really enjoyed your stories. Remember to listen to your instinct and don’t let Doug talk you out of what you’re feeling. God bless you.

    I really liked the theory of the river island nursery. I grew up on a river in the central cascades in wa and had two such islands and we always called it the creepy part of the river. A farm on the other side of the river and very near those islands had stories of monkey sounds and howls back to the earliest homesteaders. I thought that was a very interesting take on what they could use those sand bars “islands”.

    I SMELL BS! This is the third time I’ve heard this guy’s story now. First on Sep 27, 2016 on Bigfoot Eyewitness Episode 38 , two weeks ago on Sasquatch Syndicate and now here. Seeking fame? Why not display the so called footage and audio? Find it very hard to believe anyone would sleep through any sasquatch activity no matter what their background is or how tired they may be.

      Could be medication. I have to be medicated to sleep and if anything or anyone manages to wake me, I don’t stay awake longer than a minute. I wouldn’t be so quick to judge without more information.

    Interesting about the Flir working thru the tent . I know a fella who works for Raytheon . The newer military grade FLIR would prove Sasquatch . Makes the FLIR available to public look like a Cracker Jack prize . I’ve never used one and he doesn’t believe but he has been able to check one out and bring it home . Sais a small snake just lit up in the lens , could see a songbirds heart beating in infrared and could zoom in on a neighbors arm a few houses down and see the hairs on his arm plain as day . I think it may have been a video camera too ? This was 7 years ago . Prob even better now . It is against the law to own that grade of FLIR they do not want that in the hands of the enemy .

    i grew up in clatskanie would love to know his buddy dougs last name. lol i bet i know him or he knows me or some of my family and friends still living there. i left clatskanie in 1995 for alaska. some great times in the old hometown.

    Dr. Briggs Hall must be the retired F&G veterinarian, that he took out to the site of activity. I was doubting his story, but having Dr. Hall on board, gave it some verisimilitude, for me. I know of Dr. Hall, as he was sent out by WA F&G to our property, where he set up game-cams, and investigated our ongoing activity. I do believe game-cams scare Sasquatch away (in our case, for a few months.)
    I was told by WA F&G, that they send Dr. Hall out to investigate 6-8 calls on Sasquatch each year in the North Cascade’s area alone. Mostly where Sasquatch are interfering with livestock, or causing consternation in some way. Dr. Hall is a down-to-earth,, highly educated, and credible man, who has had his own sightings, and other experiences. My favorite story of his involves being screamed at from a ridge when he was stalking a cougar. He said he immediately brought his rifle up “to the assault position.” That scream unnerved him badly, but he had to carry on with his stalking, and his wildlife duty. He would be a great addition to this show, if you can get him on. I have his number (as I am sure this guest does too) if you’d like to invite him on the show, sometime. Dr. Hall could also add his two-cents as to what he saw/heard/observed within this story. A concern I have, is this guest related that he and his friend heard activinty (the growling) etc… but it seemed that Dr. Hall didn’t hear or observe anything? That’s a concern if Dr. Hall was right there. On a side note: when Dr. Hall came to our home approximately a week later, after setting the game-cams, he brought his wife along, who sat with me in the living room, and we talked. I asked her if she believed in Sasquatch. Her reply: “I believe my husband.” That spoke volumes; and is powerful testimony, alongside HIS testimony, of these creatures. Briggs Hall is a man who’s been on “Monster Quest” obviously, he has much he could add to this realm of inquiry, evidence, and discussion. All the best; and thank you for a great place to hang out…a place (speaking for myself) of fear and wonder.

    I think any video camera or regular camera that has “autofocus” sends out a beam infra red or readio, thats what senses distance and does the focus. So just tape over those hoes that emitt the beam. But you may not have any focus, so manual focus it somehow.

    I love this podcast and interested where tech can can be improved. The camera aversion is curious- I wonder if anyone has tried to set SLR manual with timer type of camera up super high among foliage and well above suposed eye level of any SQ on the forest floor? Can then try a fixed focus at likey spot/s. This assuming they see IR or can smell the electronics/us.

    While people are questioning the authenticity of marks in counter with Sasquatch,I will give the benefit of the doubt and keep a open mind ,I know one thing people who have incounted a stressful life changing situation they reaction is very different from normal ,it’s usually a blend of fear and excitement some people are never the same again. I don’t want to end up like one of those debunkers ,even though the evidence is clear that Sasquatch does exist ,still denie it doesn’t ,so on this one I will keep a open mind ,Steve

    I’m from Southern California. I use to live East of Seattle. Redmond Washington, where Bill Gates has his mega mansion. Had encounters out near Bend. Strange, the parallels.
