Sasquatch encounter on my property

I just spoke to Shannon who is from Missouri and she shared with me ongoing activity on and around her property. Shannon says “A couple of years ago the lumber company clear cut about 40 acres of land just north of my property. I started hearing strange sounds in the woods and one night a creature had walked up to my back door. As I got off of the couch I could see it from the waist up. It had its back to me and the one thing I thought was strange was it was not as big as people describe, it was large don’t get me wrong but it wasn’t the King Kong type people describe.

We have had pets go missing, we have heard this strange chatter at night around the house. One night I went out to the backyard to yell at the dogs who were going crazy in their dog pin. As I stepped outside to yell at the dogs, I saw a very large creature over by the pin. I was scared and ran inside the house. Later that night my son saw the same creature sitting in the field behind our house. The next morning we were missing a puppy from the dog pin.”

Shanon has agreed to come on the show. I am going to include this in Friday nights show!

I don’t mean this in a bad way or judgmental, but when people comment on their dogs outside etc. when they note activity why don’t they bring the dogs in or protect them in some way? I can’t imagine leaving my dogs outside after seeing an unfamiliar animal around no matter what it was. I’m just wondering what the reasoning and mind set is, that’s all.

    Hello,

We don’t know the circumstances or the situation of these pet owners. I’m sure Shannon feels horrible to loose a puppy. Imagine if you lost a puppy? I’m sure there is some guilt and hurt there. Lets not increase it.

    Shannon thnak-you for sharing.

How awful, I hate hearing about the missing pets, and I couldn’t even imagine knowing that one of these creatures had taken one of our little family members! My heart goes out to all families, who have lost a pet under such horrible conditions!

Some day, we will know exactly what these creatures are. Scientists will actually be studying them, instead of ignoring them for fear of the gubmnt! I think that right now, there are maybe as many as 10 different bipedal animals out there, that are all being lumped under the “Bigfoot” title, because we have been brought up to be so closed minded about such nonsense. There have been stories of vampires, werewolves, dogmen, lizardmen, ant people, and so on and so on, for hundreds of years, all over the world! We are just now starting to open our eyes to the possibilities, and bigfoot is the most popularly accepted creature of the moment. That doesn’t mean that they are what is responsible for all of the deaths and disappearances out there, and I have a strong suspicion that they are not responsible for the majority of them. I think maybe Mr. Paulides suspects the same, and that is why he will not say what he suspects. I do believe that he is trying to open our eyes to how strange these cases really are, without getting himself in trouble.

Thank you Wes, for all that you do for us!

Chris, David Paulides has talked about this and the reason he won’t come right out and say “yea I think this is a case of a bigfoot killing the guy”, is because he has met the families of the disappeared, and just think about it for a minute, he’s looked into these family members grieving eyes and to impart on them the idea, the thought of their loved one being consumed by some horrible gigantic monster from every human’s nightmare (and exactly which one it could be who knows) is just too damn horrible a thought to even consider. The Dennis Martin case being example A

I’m a dog lover also, but I agree with Paul and think Shannon did the right thing in staying inside. Otherwise she could be on a list of missing persons and been dinner for this creature. Think about it everyone, from her description of the creature it could be a young underdeveloped aggressive rouge that didn’t even care if people were around or not. First he comes to the back door, then he’s seen at the dog pen close to the house, and finally, he is spotted sitting in the field behind the house. It’s very possible that the poor missing puppy was enough of a meal to prevent an escalation in events that could have led to the death of the mother, son, or anyone else present. In addition, we don’t know, up until the animals were coming up missing maybe Shannon was only exposed to and bought into the “Harry and the Henderson’s, Finding Bigfoot” stuff, that these creatures are sweet, leaf eating, giants of the forest. It sure would have been nice if she had a gun? – and went back out the back door and put a slug in him when he was hovering around the dog pen!

I get upset, too. But, I think in most cases the people are unaware or in denial of what danger is there. Some people’s stories are different on this, and they shouldn’t knowingly leave their animals in danger, but it sounds like there were earlier incidents, and at the time, of course she was unaware of the danger. We are listening to her perspective now, looking back, and she is seeing that danger only looking back at the series of events. Part of that, is that so many don’t feel they can admit what’s going on, or ask for help because of the stigma. So they go about their lives until they are forced to deal with it…in many cases the loss of an animal jolts them aware. We need the truth to come out, and people will have knowledge and be prepared.

I would advise anyone who thinks or knows one of these creatures is around to always keep a gun within reach. They are cold killers and if a 900 pound 8 foot tall ape wants to get you theres not much a door is going to do to slow it down. If these creatures can rip trees out of the ground or snap them off like a twig it will make short work of a door. Our property backs right up to sabine river bottom in southeast texas. One morning my little girl said some strange things and when i went outside to check i found footprints outside her window that measured over 16 inches. I photographed them. The next night we had a bad storm and about 1:38 AM our locked back door was ripped open. My wife screamed and i jumped up grabbing my 12 gauge. As i ran to the laundry room our dog ran past me balling with his tail between his legs. I chambered a OO buck n my gun as i passed thru the kitchen. When i came to the laundry room the door was wide open and rain was pouring in. In the lightning flashes i could see the creature turn to walk away. He was standing off the back deck on ground but still was as tall as i was. He went to the left before i could get a shot off. By the time i eased up to the door being cautious to not get jerked outa my house he was gone. Thought he had gone round the house but i couldnt find him. Ever since that night i sleep in my recliner where i can see both doors and check on my girls several times in the night. Sorry so long but please be prepaired. If they want in you wont have much time.
