A listener writes “I live in Spokane, Washington, and this past weekend I believe I had an encounter with Sasquatch. My brother Adam told me to email you the story as he is a fan of your show.

I was on a hike with my husband on the afternoon of January 10th, in the Nine Mile Falls area just west of Spokane. The area specifically is called McLellan Conservation Area. About 45 minutes into the hike, I saw a figure way out in the distance deep in the trees. I turned left and saw the dark figure, head, shoulders, torso, arms and legs. It was so dark, almost completely black but I could tell it had texture to it if that makes sense. I’d say it was about 100 yards or less away from me. I stopped and stared at it, it raised its right arm and reached to the tree beside it and tucked behind the tree, hiding from us. I stood there for a good 2 minutes just staring at the tree, waiting for movement but never saw it again. What was also interesting was that the park was covered in some of the densest fog I’ve ever seen afterwards, I am glad I saw it before that rolled in.

About 15 minutes later, we stopped at an area to look at the Spokane River. All of the sudden both myself and husband heard 4 loud bangs, and I can say with upmost confidence that it sounded like wood banging against wood. The noise came from the exact area I saw the dark figure. We assumed maybe we would see another hiker on the way back or at least footprints as there was snow on the ground, but we never saw anyone else, the parking lot was empty when we got back.

I am very sure what I saw wasn’t a person, as I said the entire body and face was dark, all the same color. I never felt afraid or remotely disturbed when I saw it or afterwards, which is odd for me as I would consider myself a bit of a “scardy cat” when it comes to hearing stories about this sort of thing.”
