Regarding the Kansas episode

A listener writes “Hi Wes, After listening to that Kansas episode I thought I should chime in. My former property is located not too far from Clinton Lake, which I’m at probably 4 – 6 times a year. My former property was over 400 acres and surrounded by similar properties and habitats.

I lived there from about 2004 to about 2014. The property had been in my family for about 100 years and I had been going up to the property from Kansas City with my grandpa since I was a little kid.

Examples:
1. Probably the most stark example for me personally was one Sunday late afternoon in probably August 2014 – I brought back a squeaky ball toy for my dog and something charged my house with lungs so big it felt like the size of an elephant. When it growled at me the sound waves literally went through my body – it was surreal.

I’ve heard the little girls playing in the woods voices. I’ve had logs thrown right by my head. I’ve had brown furry creatures close to the house in the woods that I couldn’t identify. We’ve heard human like voices exclaim in alarm as we shot into the woods at night. My friend Rob was stalked one night when he drove my atv into a ravine and he couldn’t get out of it for hours. I’ve had the tree breaks markings. I’ve had very large trees moved onto my atv/jeep trails.

I’ve never had face-to-face contact, thank G-d. I live in the heart of downtown Kansas City now and knowing what I know now, I’m not sure I could ever move back out to the country.

Anyway – happy to chat – I’m a big fan of the show!”

    Thanks for sharing.
I found a rather large footprint at Lake Kanopolis this past November. Later at a family gathering near Christmas, after I mentioned fossil hunting there …My cousin’s husband had asked me if I had seen anything “weird” when I went to Kanopolis… which I thought was weird, because I had. I said, Well kinda, funny you should ask, and shared my footprint pictures. He works on pipelines, he said casually, “Yea, I ve heard some things and seen some things that are weird” . He didn’t say much else. Then family discussion moved on. I need to follow up with him.

well, with the positive reply by tv audiences of the many big foot shows— I bet your property would have been very very popular today! lol.

But seriously sir, I’m sorry you had to sell such a property as had been in your family for OVER A 100 years!!! That is special to you, and I’m sure it was a very hard decision.
My family has such a property and we are blessed that, it has been in our family since literally, before the lands of Kentucky had become a state! If such were ever sold, the family would literally be crying…. Hope things ended up ok for yourself— our land was very special to all in the family because they were literally born there, trapped it, and lived there just as the pioneers had lived…. beautiful water, and plenty of game.
I wish you the best in your endeavors!!!

I’d love to hear the details of your experiences. Kansas sightings seem so rare. As a child, I remember being afraid to go down the dark hallway to bed because I was afraid a Sasquatch might get me.
Yep, sure kid! Lots of Sasquatch hanging out around Dodge City neighborhoods, I’m sure.
