Paul Freeman Segment Plus Grover Krantz Interview

Two local TV segments feature Paul Freeman and Grover Krantz.

Grover Sanders Krantz was an American anthropologist and cryptozoologist; he was one of few scientists not only to research Bigfoot, but also to express his belief in the being’s existence. Throughout his professional career, Krantz authored more than 60 academic articles and 10 books on human evolution and conducted field research in Europe, China, and Java.

Outside of Krantz’s formal studies in evolutionary anthropology and primatology, his cryptozoological research on Bigfoot drew heavy criticism and accusations of “fringe science” from his colleagues, costing him research grants and promotions, and delaying his tenure at the university. Further, his articles on the subject were rejected by peer-reviewed scholarly journals. However, Krantz was tenacious in his work and was often drawn to controversial subjects, such as the Kennewick Man remains, arguing for their preservation and study. He has been described as having been the “only scientist” and “lone professional” to seriously consider Bigfoot in his time, in a field largely dominated by amateur naturalists.

(New Jersey) Paul Freeman was a relentless researcher. He had an encounter by chance, then spent years trying to get proof of the existence of Bigfoot. He spent over a decade searching, going into the woods almost daily! He would cast footprints, and take notes on a map of his findings. It all paid off when he was able to get what many consider the best Bigfoot footage since Patterson-Gimlin. He truly was a giant in the field. Very sad that he died so young.

(New Jersey) Michael, he was a very interesting man who, after a chance encounter, dedicated a lot of his life to proving the existence of Bigfoot – in spite of a fair amount of ridicule. You should check him out online. Along with people like Bob Gimlin, he’s one of my “heros” in the Bigfoot world.. A British radio company traveled to his home in Washington State and did a lengthy interview with him- I believe in two parts. Really interesting. The one problem was a background buzzing noise in the recording which is kind of annoying. Anyway, a man very dedicated to his research. Sadly, he died at 60 years old. He left us all a great legacy with his video footage.

I do know that Dr. Meldrum thought highly of him, his casts and the film. For me his film shows no head bobbing in some uneven terrain and just a massive size in the upper torso that makes the head look small. Some talk about his fake casts as reason to throw everything out. What those low life skeptards do not say is that he faked some casts or a trackway in order to show the difference between a real track and cast.

Kranz clearly added to his scholarship a huge and v funny self-deprecating sense of humour ….”no chance of finding a Sasquatch body( even if his helicopter would fly) seems about right.
