cryptozoologynews.com reports A landscaper in Ohio claims he came upon a tall bipedal creature that resembled a gorilla.

Joe Kalavity, of Athens, told Cryptozoology News on Sunday that he was walking his dog in the nearby woods when he encountered the unidentified animal.
“It was about midnight and I couldn’t sleep and my dog Buddy was wound up, so I figured I would take him out for a walk to blow off some steam. I get outside and see it’s a full moon,” the 27-year-old man said about the March, 2013 alleged sighting. “I figure that’s probably what’s got him wired up.”
But, according to Kalavity, the dog was upset about something else.
“He’s a pretty calm dog. We’re walking for a good 20 minutes when I start to get tired. So I stop and turn to go back the way we came, but Buddy stays put, staring down the trail and he won’t come even with me tugging on him. He is just staring.”
Reportedly, as the eyewitness investigates what his dog is pointing at, he notices something standing in the middle of the trail.
“I look up to see what he’s so interested in, and up ahead, maybe 50 yards at the most, is this big, dark creature standing up on two feet in the moonlight. My first thought was, is that a gorilla? I was like a deer in the headlights I couldn’t move,” he recalls.
Kalavity, a hobbyist photographer, says he was carrying the camera with him but that as soon as he reached for his camera the purported creature went off the trail and into the woods. He added that the sighting lasted about 20 seconds and the estimated the height of the animal was 8 feet.
“It was dark and hairy and it walked on two legs. I couldn’t see its face or eyes. It was big. I couldn’t sleep that night,” he said.

something comes to mind as i read this, the eyewitness says when he reaches for his camera the creature disappears into the woods. It seems to match up with the insiders statement. The insider said if you don’t have a weapon you can pull your camera out. The Sasquatch apparently view the camera as a weapon, which sounds like this may be the case with this particular encounter. Maybe the Sasquatch didn’t even see the camera but rather saw the person reaching for something, and that in itself may have been enough to cause the creature to retreat.

Yup. Time to grab your ass with both hands and scramboie on out of their. Not safe.

Sure glad he had something with him! It’s always when you least expect it, isn’t it?

Athens is definately an area that has boogers.

That’s a fact. Once you get on the eastern side of Chillicothe that is Boogerville. Wished like heck we lived out that way.

I would never imagine Squatchly lives in Ohio
Charles B
A coworker of mine saw one while growing up on an Ohio farm.

Where is Ohio? ???? : )
Lol.
Just kidding. So many stories from up there. I’m out here in the southwest. Just saying hi out here to my fellow squatch enthusiasts.

Very Cool story, and I do not envy you running into Sasquatch in the middle of trail at night!

You know, I have thought about this time and time again. Everytime someone does have a very good camera and goes for it, the sasquatch ducks away. It also happened to survivorman. I think if someone is really going to go out and find one of these things you should have a camera attached to your forehead, pointing the way you are looking, and a button in hand that turns the thing on and controls it without you having to reach for anything so that these things don’t get scared off thinking you are reaching for a weapon.
Dave T
Vince B, I’ve been thinking the same way and last week purchased a video camera that clips to the brim of a baseball cap. I’m usually wearing one when I’m outdoors virtually all the time when I’m outdoors anyway so I’ll have it with me. Going to try it out in the woods in Ohio this wknd.

Might want one on the back of the helmet also.

I agree, your onto it Vince such a device would be easy to manufacture, there probably or ready out there, if your looking for yowies, this would be a great device,, PEICE!!

They are here in Ohio.. I had my own experience and talked to several others with encounters.

How do you upload a profile pic on this sight?
Charles R
I can document several also and I am in the agricultural area NW of Dayton. However we have many rivers and large creeks, and large agricultural drainage ditches. Almost every decent sized farm will put aside any where from 10 to 50 acres of woods. There are other areas that may have several hundred acres of woods. Farms, orchards, livestock ( tremendous first hand account of livestock raid just south of me in 2013 that also involves military, I ivestigated ), fish in rivers and creeks all allow a great opportunity for these forest giants to move around at night and live under the radar. Deer population has exploded around here also. BFRO just posted a report this week in Preble County, OH with a pic of a track on Twin creek that is quite good. I have fished this creek a bunch in the past and have heard wood knocks during the day, about 20 miles north of the report.

This report needs to be shown to people suggesting these “Trolls” to be bears to eyewitnesses who damn well know what they saw.
Even at moonlit midnight, their profile is unmistakably APE/hominid. Nobody’s brain would jump over bear, human, or deer to “gorilla” as a possible subject here in Ohio. Lol
As to “reaching” not only is that a movement for a possible weapon, but such movement breaks the “mental freeze” as well. Could simply be an awakening reminder to the critter that it has been seen and it didn’t want to tangle with the top predator on the planet. As weak and slow as we may know ourselves to be when compared to these animals…we often can do a looooot of damage and are almost never alone. And a man AND dog are a hardy combo to deal with. The man on his own would have missed it, but not his dog.
