Thanks, that volume and length seems more than the average human could do but I am no expert !

I’m just an enthusiast and not an expert, but the strength & length of the return howl seems more than any joe shmo could do.

Very very nice capture, about as good as one could hope for. To me it just does not sound human. It is so similar to one I heard in late June 2011 in Iosco County, MI ( Huron National Forest ). It was about the same length of time also, I estimated it at 1 to 2 miles away, at any rate it was a ways away.. The one I heard was in response to several boogers that were only 200 yards away from me that had one make very loud scream, followed by another with an owl imitation, followed by another with a loon imitation. I think they were on a scavenge food patrol around Round/Indian Lake where many summer cabins are. This was 2 am. When the creature let out that howl suck as the one here all went quiet around the Lake. I think is was an Alpha Male calling them home, but I do not really know.
My wife heard the same howl the next year late at night in Sept. and was quick to point it out to me the next day.

Wow! ? That response call really sounds like it’s coming from a massive set of lungs!
