Excellent discussion! Some people take early retirement and relocate to Florida. The lady who took the photo stated she feared for her grandchildren indicating they were still young enough for backyard play. Usually one is considered “elderly” by age 65, when beginning Medicare. For these reasons, it’s not likely the lady who captured these photos was 75 years old.

7 foot tall orangutan.

These photos have been an enigma for me, I imagine many others. Bob seemed to hit many bases. The body seems massive, way too massive for an orangutan. However the face looks like an orangutan, but is this just due to photograph in the dark? Also the bottom canine teeth appear to be much to long for an orangutan, but more closely resemble a baboon. Has any real primate expert examined this with an opinion? I am left with maybe it is a skunk ape, and maybe not, same as Bob and probably most others.

The middle of Florida is wide open, top to bottom……tons of room east of 275 for skunk apes all the way across the state until you hit the Miami suburban sprawl….. I think this is the real deal…soo much for moonlit walks in the Everglades ????
