I want to thank Jayne for sending this to me, Jayne writes “Hey Wes this is from my state.
The Bellows Falls police put up a statement saying they regretted posting about the monkey sightings and so its no longer on their FB page. Thought it was interesting as there has been some disappearances and strange deaths (unsolved recent ones to my knowledge) around that area. There is also the Bennington Triangle area down in southern VT though I don’t know its parameters for sure. BF is definitely here in VT as I’m pretty sure my ex husband (who is now deceased) had an encounter in the middle of the night back in the 70s, probably 30-40 miles (if that) as the crow flies from Whitehall, NY. Back then he was hitchhiking from Burlington, VT going to Glens Falls, NY, about midnight and something jumped behind him and landed in the road and he felt hot breath on his neck.
When he turned around all he saw was eye shine and ran like hell with his thumb out and a car quickly came along and picked him up. We were kids back then and bigfoot was not on our radar at all. We never could figure out what it was, but he was terrified. It wasn’t until recently when I heard someone elses encounter from Lake George, NY that a light bulb went off in my head as to what my husband probably encountered that night. It was also an area with lots of fruit and apple trees, an orchard.”
The local news station writes “At least three people in Bellows Falls reported seeing a monkey in the area. Bellows Falls Police posted about the unusual sighting on their Facebook page Tuesday. Police say a man came to the police department Monday to report that he saw a monkey crossing Back Westminster Road on Route 121. Officers are asking if you know of anyone in the area who has a monkey that is missing, please contact the Bellows Falls Police Department. Police later removed the Facebook posting after it garnered some derogatory comments.”
