Mogollon Rim Encounter

I’m a wildlife biologist and worked for several zoological parks over the years and participated in several field expeditions unrelated to sasquatch.

A colleague of mine actually told me about your show a few years ago and told me about his personal encounter in Washington State some ~15 years ago.

I began to take the concept seriously after listening to your show and looking into the palentological history of hominins and have become convinced these creatures exist. So much so that I published a book speculating on the possibility of it as a biological species.

Recently I purchased land up in Northern Arizona and have been spending my days fishing in the Mogollon Rim. I’ve never been a fan of tourist fishing sites and prefer to find isolated locations. I can never catch anything when everyone and their mother is partying by the lake, you know? Several fishermen in the area tipped me off to this creek that you could follow for miles and fish all day without seeing another person. I decided to go to this area and followed the creek for several miles into the woods. There were some signs of hiking trails but they weren’t maintained and I suspect they were used primarily by the forest service. Anyways the area is really only accessible on foot. I followed the creek and would fish whenever I saw some fish, the water was very clear. I was also playing music out loud on my phone. After a few hours I decided to head back and had about a 2 hour walk through the forest to get back to my jeep.

At one point I noticed the forest went silent. Wasn’t thinking sasquatch, I just acknowledged it and thought weird. I continued my walk out and at one point got my luer and fishing line all tangled up and stopped to try and get it fixed. Fiddled with it for a minute and said screw it and continued on. A few moments after something large comes barreling through the woods on the opposite side of the creek and stops right across from me. I looked over and couldn’t see what it was, but saw a bunch of foliage moving from just being ran through. I would have written it off as a deer but then it vocalized. It was 100% primate in origin. Sounded like a deeper howler monkey communication and then warped into a softer sound. I believe it was a territorial call of some kind. I stood still for a minute hoping it would peek out at me. But nothing happened. I slowly continued on watching behind me but never heard anything else. I dont know if it was following me out or not. I was very uncomfortable for the next hour until I finally got close enough to the start that I saw an amateur hiker.

I’ve attached a photo of the area for perspective.

If only everyone were as open-minded about the topic as this individual. He or she is willing to go against the current, especially considering their profession. That’s true open-mindedness.
