Modern Explorer: Abduction Stories – Phenomecon 2023

Modern Explorer writes “At Phenomecon 2023, Glenn interviewed attendees like Linda and David. So many stories were there. In this interview, we discuss the strange events that happened to them over the years. David shares some curious photos of an injury he has no idea of where it came from.”

I did watch the video, but off topic: Isn’t it interesting if you looked at a map of cryptids with illustrations, how most of the different kinds still seem to follow the same scheme? Let me explain…

Sometimes in video games, before you play the actual game you have to design your character. You choose from a certain set of available options for the character and usually no matter what, or how detailed you can design your character, you still have limitations of some kind.

I feel as though cryptids are very similar to this gamer design concept and the entity player must be choosing their own look when entering our reality. Maybe these looks or costumes are sometimes chosen based on fear effectiveness, beliefs or believability… or something else perhaps.

Let’s just say you are a dark entity/gamer, all set up with your headset, gaming chair, some chips and maybe one of those Monster energy drinks… Your sat down, nestled in and ready to play “Foiled Universe!”, the kids call it F.U. for short.

First you build your character by choosing the basic shape. These are somewhat limited to humanoid, lizard, snake/serpent and bird. Don’t worry, you can add wings, hair and other cool stuff later to any of these:)

Now that you have selected the base mold or shape you can proceed and use the slider bar option to choose additional percentages from other well know wildlife of Earth. Popular choices are Ape, reptile, bat, goat, insect, deer, snake, bird, human, wolf, and if you really want to get crazy you can go with prehistoric. You can pick up to as many as 4 of these all together.

After this part you can choose its overall bulk or slenderness and stature/height or length. Choose available eye selections of color and shapes and determine if you’d like them to glow (or if it isn’t necessary).

Choose add ons such as antlers, wings, hooves (if applicable), horns, spikes or even clothing options (if humanoid) from different hats (pointed and tops hats included) and flannels or outdoor wear or even something from our popular line of cloaks, (If you have enough crypto currency you can even purchase invisibility!). Hooray!

Finally after you have tweaked your character features for the last six hours now, getting it just the way you want, you choose your entry point on the Earth map where you want to “spawn in”. You are pumped!

You hit the X button… immediately you receive a message on the screen that says “creature does not match location criteria”… WHAT!?…what a freakin’ joke!

You were really looking forward to playing and spent so long on that stupid character.😤

Then another message appears on the screen, “Choose one of the following pre-approved characters to continue”… At this point you’re basically disgruntled and really feeling dejected… downtrodden and simply just wanting to play the game at this point, you select an approved character from the list of commons and choose the “Sasquatch” creature.

Oh well, at least your finally playing!😜

“Definitely going to find out that hack someday how the one guy spawned in as “The flatwoods Monster”, that thing was dope!”
