ParticipantOwls prey on skunk. They frequently close (3) eyelids to protect their eyes. Could it have been an owl in a tree after a kill?

ParticipantI wouldn’t touch it for love nor money. I’d set it out an apple and a candy bar to see which it chose first, Then water and milk, also placing in front of it my grandsons put the right shape in the right hole board game followed by a stuffed animal or granddaughters baby doll ( not her favorite 🙂 ).
Sounds strange I know…Afterwards go inside and hope it leaves by itself. By observing the reactions to the above I believe I could finally answer some questions I’ve had almost my entire life.

ParticipantHi Troy.
I don’t believe there is one particular area for audio or video. It seems to me any video or audio files submitted by callers or members are only associated with the blog or forum thread that they were originally posted to.
You can find a search tool by clicking the word forums (not sasquatch forum) in the blue title/link up above your original post.
Where it says Home/Forums/Sasquatch forum.
Ill try to make you a link.here. forum Search
I hope that it works for you.
If you find an easier way… Please let me know.January 7, 2018 at 9:57 am #116813Phil C
ParticipantThe way I see it is….
By Sas Chron having free material generates exposure to the site. If only members can hear the episodes then only members will know about the content and then no (or or extremely slow) growth.
Maybe only the current months show be free or possibly the top 10 episodes be free, so there’s still exposure but not the 150 that’s currently available.
Leave 10 or so free and tag all the others as members.January 6, 2018 at 5:02 pm #116795Phil C
ParticipantHey Glenn.
Could it have been Big Red video from timbergiant bigfoot?
If any of that rings a bell search those terms on Ytube.

ParticipantHi Seth.
I bet mirage. Lemme tell you why I bet that.
I live about 15 miles from downtown Lville. From just about anywhere in this part of my
neighborhood the sky scrappers downtown look about the size of your pinky finger nail. However on this one particular road that I take from time to time the same view of those buildings they look the size of half you pinky finger. About 3 times the size anywhere else at this southern most part of town.
I point it out to people and they’re like “oh neat” but they never really discuss it any further. This happens mostly in summer time heat. When the road is super hot and the heat waves (mirage) are very noticeable.
Google earth your hunting area and look around for that structure within a few miles.December 22, 2017 at 1:25 pm #116059Phil C
ParticipantHi All,
Let me run this past you all and get your opinion on what I should do.
I’ve seen two or three YouTube channels posting modified versions of Sasquatch Chronicles. What I mean by modified is this. The channel removes Wes’ voice, changes the witnesses story around by shuffling around their story just enough to be slightly different but still make sense and they add some type of back ground audio such as a campfire sound track. I know for a fact the story comes from SC and I’ve considered reporting them to youtube. However I know that copyrights and other legal protection can legally be side stepped (loop holed) if the offender has modified the original content enough to claim as their own. I am a paying member of YouTube and I am worried to report a channel if they’ve loop holed the original audio enough and I am concerned that ill end up being punished for false reporting etc..
How would you all deal with this?Merry Christmas everyone.

ParticipantYep Knobby
I think the being you watch avoid the car headlights was totally aware of the lights. In fact I think they get so distracted by lights they get sloppy about things around them. Id like to run that through my thought process and grab at conclusions.
Consider that scenario again. Place yourself in its BigShoes and you’ll see… The lights blew its whole stealth process
So focused on the lights that other things around the creature took a giant second place
This is just a taste of what I mean when I type that I think that rely on vision at night to a point that can hamper there actions.
I hope I expressed myself correctly with this reply.November 26, 2017 at 6:21 pm #114579Phil C
ParticipantHi all.
I just had a chance to catch up on this thread.
Knobby. I don’t think sas is strictly nocturnal. I do think they are aware of the fact they have great night vision. I think they want to maintain that advantage whenever possible and when its night time and get hit by a light source such as a flashlight ( torch ) it does seem to be enough to dissuade their behavior. You mentioned deer in your reply to my comment earlier in this thread as a comparison. Yep. I get that, but have you ever noticed how a deer flips out when hit by light at night. They do change their behavior. They’ll freeze or sometime run right in front of your vehicle. Who else does that sound like? Lol.
I seldom reply to questions on here because I just don’t have time to keep up with it but when I do, I usually keep my replies vague to open the door to further conversation. I hope that we all get our questions answered sooner rather that later.
I’m off to listen to the latest episode, catch y’all later.November 23, 2017 at 7:15 pm #114455Phil C
ParticipantWe often think Sasquatch stays in the darkest part of the forest to keep himself or herself hidden as much as possible. That’s true I’m sure but if you factor in what we’ve been discussing it could be that they’re in the darkest area not only to hide but to save on eyestrain as well. To keep from over exposing their eyesight and reducing the advantage they have.

ParticipantAgreed. I have had a telescope all through my life. I absolutely love star gazong and you are soooo right. The haze of city light does overpower the darkness of our heavens greatly. Like you implied, I too imagine that a similar effect happens to Sasquatch. His primary sense, eyesight, that’s been perfected for night vision must seriously be hampered by any stray or inexpected light.
To add a thought to Genes comment let me mention this little factoid. Eye patches. The ones worn by sailors and pirates had a good reason to wear them. When they went below deck and into the unlit cargo holds of the ship they’d swap the patch to the other eye. That way the freshly uncovered eye was already adjusted to darkness and they could see much better with no need to wait around for the eye to adjust to the darkness. Giving them an advantage to accomplish the job at hand. So if the sailor removed the eye patch in broad daylight on top deck … Well that’s gotta hurt. Bet sasquatch experiences something like that, probably 10x as much when popped by lights unexpectedly. -
