Your idea is good for animals like bears. The problem is sasquatch has proven to be far more intelligent than common animals, and building such a structure would attract attention and be very noticeable. I think the big guy would avoid it altogether.
My thoughts are to go at it through steps. The first would be to find a way to find a bf and be able to keep tabs on it without him necessarily knowing. In my mind the best way to do this is the use of micro rfid tags. We have used them to keep tabs on terrorists and they work great. These tags can be made so small they are invisible to the naked eye and they are made to stick to clothing and hair (which the big guy is covered with). So if you set up a bait station in a bf habitation area, and a few snipers in ghilly suits nearby. Then once the creature arrives these snipers would simply activate a few pneumatic devices that would essentially cover the sasquatch in a invisible haze of rfid tags sticking all over him. The big guy would only feel a slight breeze.
Then as the big guy leaves the area those tags sticking to him and moving would be activated by a proximity device similar to what people use for invisible electric dog fences. All in all I doubt he would even notice a thing. Which is optimal as he wouldn’t panic and run or feel that there were threats nearby like if someone shot at him. His locations and routine could be documented and studied from a computer screen nearby. Even locating his group for study. Then a plan could be made to take a specimen through suprise, knowing where he is and goes. The best this is that he wouldn’t be spooked though so you could see his regular routine and not be trying to chase him.
