ParticipantModern humans are the first species of the genus homo that are alone. History now shows that many human species sharing the earth is really the norm and so must interbreeding be. That doesn’t make me initially think “abomination” when I think about it from that context. I wonder what those who refer to them as such really mean by that? It seems like they have darker meaning. Now the experiments of Dr Ivanov fit that bill but I have been unable to find any record of evidence of success in his experiments. Wes, I know you probably won’t weigh in but I’d really like to know what they mean by abomination.

ParticipantYes, I’ve always wondered myself about the African connection. I feel like I remembered something about ancient African genetics. It would be nice to have some follow up on that particular piece of data. It’s starting to seem like the the human pieces fit together quite freely up until very recent history which would make me think this issue must be far more complicated genetically than I’ve given credit for.

ParticipantIt’s seems hard to imagine a pregnant human female surviving in a Sasquatch tribe until birth, doesn’t it? Was she able to provide herself with fire so she didn’t freeze to death. Would the baby be welcomed into family group and the mother not?

Participant17% is not a small percentage by any means. It’s really quite interesting to think about how that just all played out in the tribal pilictical sense. I’m sure every anthropologist would give their right eye to be a fly on that cave wall.

ParticipantAlso in Ketchum’s theory that would mean a human female presumably survived labor and either kept the hybrid offspring? Or the offspring was kept by the other tribe? Some seriously desturbing circumstances I’m sure, but either way adults were around to make sure that the mother(at least until birth) and offspring survived. The implications are fascinating and quite dark. It’s seems like a long shot given just how hard basic survival would have been, but stranger things and such.

ParticipantIt’s possible I suppose that during the last ice age natural selection was selecting for larger more robust species of all types and that a bipedal primate has access to pretty much all major land masses at that time and could have just been part of the few that species that survived to the present without much change.
But the Neanderthal theory has always fallen short in the basic size category. Which brings me back to the question of just how they got that big?March 11, 2018 at 7:00 pm #122554Tony s
ParticipantThe Ketchum stuff is what got me thinking about this in the first place. Then I remembered that only a specific breeding combo could result in the growth gene inhibitor being turned off and thought it deserved some thought.
I hadn’t realized denisovan teeth were quite that robust. I had always thought that hidelbergensis would have been a solid contender just based on size alone but I’m sure there must be others that fit the bill well. After all when we say ape man as a general description it actually is fairly representative of our entire “family bush”.
I have only casually followed the Ketchum dna study but one of the first things I would look into would be reproductive compatability patterns of other wild hybrids in primates. If there are any.March 11, 2018 at 6:49 pm #122553Tony s
ParticipantI think a simpler view of the problem is in order here. All of things probably are true but in the day to day sense it’s easier for them to cover it up than it would be to open the box. They don’t feel they owe you an explanation. Beyond that there is nothing but speculation.

ParticipantThanks for letting me know! I really wish they would play their recordings during these episodes, otherwise it’s just too much talking.

ParticipantI’ve always wondered about their thermal regulation as well. There are some articles out there about how hidelburgensis(spelling?) had a hard time adjusting to the warming trend due to their larger torso and metabolic output. In short they were just so big and powerful and they over heated easily and could not hang with the lighter bodied modern humans and hot weather. I always assumed that the squatches need for water kind of explained it, but I still think there must be more to it. We also generally think of the southern variety as being less heavily built, but there are still many reports of massive squatches out of the south. All this begs the question, how do they not overheat? They clearly have no problem with extremely low temps…
