    If you look it goes to the use of trees as projectiles, which has been spoken of here in some interviews, use of large bits I.E. small logs or limbs as clubs and native lore has them skewering people who were out of reach in shelter. Stick man is also called stick using man. If you don’t pay attention to some of the material on the show or bother to read the things in lore no wonder you aren’t getting it.

    @m99, An example, how many kinds of turtle are there in the world? Amphibious, terrestrial and oceanic but then we have more choices. Tortoises, box turtle are among the land bound to start. Bigfoot has a few differences that weigh big in face to face encounters. Seems some types are grumpier than others, sneakier or better at ambush than that crew over there.

    @Gumshoguy, Lamour took the time to get the feel of a place before writing, Zane Grey stayed in New York and made things up from maps. The Golden Bough is used in some cultural anthropology courses but was written based on hear say the writer got hanging about at adventurers clubs. Not cracking open a hard copy and taking internet for gospel is foolish in the extreme. That is why I say read the book and ask a Rabbi or someone who has been through Yeshiva school. Misinformation abounds on line. Libraries do serve a purpose. Some of the sites a certain person uses aren’t quite what they are claiming to be city boy none natives using native artwork to doll up hooey. The same goes with information sites of other types. Go get the words from the horse’s mouth. I have to get my bible from storage and my son is a computer guy. I will see if we can get a pic for those who can’t find a bookstore of the passage. I don’t like being told what I “Know” isn’t so when my eyes mean more than opinions of someone else.

    Stickman comes from the use of wood as a weapon. Thinker thunk looked at footage of a tree being thrown. We’ve had stories of trees being pulled up and thrown, treelimbs used as clubs and again fishing a morsel out with a skewer. The use of trees is similar to apes and smaller bits of tree product.

    Stick man or stick using man throws trees, uses limbs as clubs and long poles to get at prey that’s out of reach like we use forks for a pickle in the jar.If you look up Native heritage sites they go into this.

    Actually going places and taking to people is Lamour did, including folks of other cultures. Real simple.

    Sater the pass over dinner is called so because the skin of the lamb was used to paint the blood on the door. If all else ask a Rabbi.Esua also means hairy, there are more words out there than you’d think.

    Louis L’amour used to write about places after he walked the ground to literally put the lay of the land in the book, talking to locals and getting more knowledge as he went.

    @Wolf, yes, the same goes with different languages but different cultural mindsets.

    @hickory67
    , Did I know how I would. The Book is quite old I found it very different from newer versions that track more with the Living version. Old books are discounted these days since we can look on line with out heeding the differences as time goes by. Later editions of books tend to get altered by publishers. Look at the new edition of a book and find a very old edition and you will be surprised in the changes.

    @Knobby, I will go with the Bible that was Grandma’s it clearly says “Hairy Demons” read the whole chapter if you need. Rewrites have been around for a long time and modern needs to alter things for personal hooey is just that hooey. Satyr is from the Greek why would Hebrew scripture use a foreign word? sater and satyr are completely different languages and meanings in those languages. Who provides your info snopes?

    @Knobby Once again if you read the OLD King James hairy demons were mentioned Leviticus chapter 17 verse 7. Sater is hebrew for hairy and some confuse the Greek satyr when translating.The bible says don’t habituate them.
