Jamie I know that sound, we dubbed it the Alabama T-Rex. When I heard it, it changed my entire belief system. I too was “escorted” off a bear stand and out off the bush, but whatever was screwing with me didn’t vocalize, it just didn’t make any effort to conceal the sound of it’s movement as it paralleled me. I have hunted my entire life, and it was the first time I ever truly feared for my safety while in the woods…

    Appreciate the understanding.

I was on a Spring Bear hunt near Green Water Lake Provincial Park north of Kelvington when I was escorted off my stand and out of the bush two evenings in a row. The second time I backed out with an arrow nocked, and stood on the road with it nocked facing the brush until the guide pulled up. I insisted on another bait the next night!

I have no doubt “dogman” reports are monkees of a slightly different head/face shape. I do have a tough time with the ones when the critter is reported to have upright ears like a wolf or german shepherd, as well as when the RP leaves no question the head was that of a canine, not just canine-like. In my experience, when humans witness something completely outside their ability to process or their belief system, they tend to “fill in the blanks” as it were, with something they can process. I suspect this is what happens when we hear accounts that are adamant they were looking at what matches a hollywood werewolf, as it wasn’t a bear, gorilla, or even what they have been told a booger should look like.

My ears always perk up when I hear a report of a monkee being hit by a motor vehicle, as I believe this is the most likely scenario for a type specimen coming to light. An 800 pound unacknowledged bipedal primate splattered all over an interstate by a now totaled 18 wheeler will be pretty much unequivocal…
