ParticipantOn the issue of trail cam detection it seems they are not afraid to get in front of a non-functional trail cam, like the batteries have gone dead. And it’s why I lean toward them being able to detect electro-magnetic fields, or electricity in some manner. It’s now known that a number of mammals can see the Earth’s magnetic field, even some primates.
I know this post was from a while back but I was going through the thread and found it interesting. It’s a subject that’s fascinated me. I remember you replying to me a while back explaining it’s not IR since daylight would drown out any IR and the IR’s only activated when the motion sensor is triggered.
Don’t all electronic devices emit some sort of electrical field and even low-level sound such as a hum? Perhaps that’s how they actively avoid them. Cameras are also too conspicuous and not designed to blend in with a natural environment because there’s no need since animals don’t try to avoid them.
Some people think sasquatch have psychic ability and can mind-read and know someone’s intentions. So if you’re putting up a camera it’ll know what you’re doing. But this is more speculative and outlandish than more potential mundane explanations.

ParticipantAppreciate @sawyerandsand for posting about LBL. Interestingly I saw a recent post by SC on Facebook about SC EP:257 Land between the lakes encounter. The LBL case has always fascinated me since I first heard about it. Particularly as the military were involved.
A while back I was listening to Dogman Encounters. Again, Vic said these things are not the killing machines they’ve been made out to be. Well, this witness would beg to differ
I’ve not listened to DE in a while but I remember one episode (2018-2020?) in which a farmer had a rake creature plaguing his farm. An alpha dogman that was habituating the area (it may have had its own pack) ended up fighting this creature and eventually killing it. I think he said the dogman and he maintained a ‘respectful distance’ and perhaps a grudging respect for one another. That could be one reason why Vic has that opinion.
However, the vast majority of dogman accounts I’ve heard they’ve been very threatening and sometimes violent towards humans (Dark Waters labels them crypto terrorists?). In a more recentish episode (2019-2020?) a guy was driving down an empty road at night and passed his new neighbour’s home. He noticed an alpha dogman standing on the man’s property and it then turned to face him and they made eye contact as he drove past. It then ended up chasing him for a while before giving up. A few nights later it had tracked the guy to his home. He had a window open and was smoking a cigarette when he noticed it outside sniffing around his truck. It caught scent of him/the cigarette and he quickly shut his window but he was too late. It then came into the home via the front door which was unlocked (as he felt safe in the country) and he ended up having to barricade himself in his bedroom because it was trying to smash its way in. It eventually left and was left a little traumatised.
I think in these situations you should call 911 and get the military involved. I know that’s happened both with dohman and bigfoot where they end up neutralising them. Otherwise they’ll only go on to kill people. But anyway, just a random thought.

ParticipantStrange, I posted here a few minutes ago and had to edit it a few times. Now it’s disappeared?

ParticipantInteresting video. It’d be good to see the original video file not a screen recording.

ParticipantThank you guys for all your comments. Thanks very much @AJ for your excellent contributions. I was already familiar with the Dogman Encounters episode regarding Brandon and those agents showing up with a sonic weapon but I’ve only listened to those first two episodes! Also that Seals one is a great find, I’m still listening to it.
Could you guys help me with finding another episode about military activity? During SC EP:403 Encountering the strange [Members] (skip to 20:15) Wes mentioned a guy who was harassed by bigfoot and kept contacting the police until they sent out the military to deal with them. Much appreciated!

ParticipantThanks Amy. I think you’re reading into my comments far too much. All I asked was “Would anyone support the idea of Wes having like a once-a-month special..” it’s more akin to polling people for their views. I’m asking out of curiousity more than anything. Content producers like Wes are engaging with their user base often and seeing as though he’s making it for them he may appreciate some of their ideas from time to time. It’s impossible to know other people’s expectations and really it’s to each person to manage theirs regardless of what suggestions we put forth. I’m sure he can figure out what I’m asking. I love his content hence why I’m a paid subscriber and very thankful for all the effort he puts into it.
Appealing to a sense of moral obligation (lives could be lost) with your idea is absurd.
I’m afraid you’ve misread what I’ve put here. The only thing I can remotely tie to this is when I said “But it’s important we know what’s going on though.”. On the one hand I’m saying it’s important we keep hearing these encounters. On the other, people may wish to know what their tax dollars are being spent on. It’s easy to presume that people who listen to the show know the dangers of Bigfoot. But there are plenty of people who believe the opposite and some of those may be new users.

ParticipantGumshoguy, that’s true about Robert Byrd and Hillary Clinton. He left the KKK in 1952 and disavowed them and profulsely apologised and never got defensive over it. Even the NAACP upon his death posted a statement honouring him and recognising his efforts in shunning the hatred of the KKK. Context is key my friend.
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/clinton-byrd-photo-klan/
Also don’t forget Dinesh D’Souza was jailed for fraud.
I know the whole ‘but the Democrats setup the KKK’ is quite popular. But didn’t the Democrats and Republicans switch positions on the political spectrum? The KKK and any racial hate groups always occupy the far-right it’s just that the political parties occupied different ideologies when these groups emerged.
As for what I meant about ‘the rot’, I meant racism and the specific practices of lynchings, segregation, Jim Crow etc. All things I’m sure you’d agree are abhorrent and unacceptable in a civilised society.

ParticipantThank you very much Pam for posting this. I’m most fascinated with military/government encounters with cryptids as they’re most evenly matched and informed about these creatures.

ParticipantI’m no longer able to edit the above post. In regards to SC EP:270 Open Mics – Behind The Scenes skip to 56:16 to get to the part about military activity.

Participant@Wolf W that’s quite a tense and thrilling scene you’ve depicted there. Did you envision instinctually how the sasquatches would react? Or did you interview law enforcement/ex-military etc to gain insight?
@Knobby that’s a good point you made there about sunlight drowning out IR. Unless I’m mistaken, aren’t motion sensors usually IR beams? Or are they laser? Also from what I’ve seen trail cams are usually quite bulky, certainly the consumer grade ones anyway. Plus they have these big straps to tie them around a tree. Even if painted with camouflage they will will stand out and be conspicuous in a natural environment. My guess is if it’s true SF ‘hunter killer’ teams are dispatched to incapacitate/kill rogue sasquatches and I have no doubt this is the case. Then having access to the very latest cutting edge military hardware. They will have state of the art electro-optical gear not available to civilians to track these things which are much more ‘passive’ and maybe undetectable. Also what’s interesting is in SC EP:434 Strange Lights In The WoodsWes briefly mentioned he’s been informed off-air by military guys they have hunter killer teams with green lasers they use against sasquatches. Now this was mentioned a while back in SC EP:270 Open Mics – Behind The Scenes where one of the brothers said he’s seen guys dressed in ghillie suits shining lasers towards a mountain where these things came from. Unless people were trolling/feeding disinformation to Wes following this episode then that’s very interesting.

Participant@Gumshoguy thanks man. I’m sure I got my information from the docu-drama Robert Redford’s The West . I always just thought Jesse James was an outlaw who robbed trains and banks because he wanted to get rich. Only after watching that series did it make me realise he was doing it as an insurgent against the Union forces (the North) who he saw as an occupying force over the South. My understanding is that the troubles he wrought essentially forced the Union to loosen their control over the South for fearing of stoking a new rebellion. Which allowed the racist practices to continue well into the 20th century.
@Knobby, that’s a great summation of what BLM stands for.
@SHANNON D thing is it’s all too easy to focus on the outliers who do things like that. There will always be those who look to hijack a movement or occasion to cause trouble and take advantage. I honestly don’t think they represent the core of BLM. There are also those very angry and take it out on the wrong people. It’s not right but I can understand their feelings. Also another shocking shooting of a black man. It’s funny how the NRA said “the only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun” and that good guy gets shot for doing his job. Even if you don’t sympathise on racial grounds you should be worried about accountability of the police. As this happened to Daniel Shaver a white man.November 11, 2018 at 10:28 am #139067Smallfoot
ParticipantI appreciate there’s been a ton of replies but I’ll stick to what the OP asked. In short: no. But let me explain. The MeToo movements and Black Lives Matter have arised because of unaddressed concerns and excessive behaviour that’s being called into question. As a man, I do not know what it’s like to be a woman and I can only surmise based on what I’ve read/heard/seen and playing ‘devil’s advocate’ if you will. I don’t think we can dispute that sexual harrassment and assault is endemic and is a scourge that needs to be eradicated if you want harmonious relations between ‘the sexes’. I’ve never been wolf-whistled/cat-called, groped (well had my arse/ass pinched), been solicited, received aggression for rebuffing someone advances nor objectified because of my appearance or told to dress down because people will look at me lecherously. Having said that, as always you get excesses at the extreme ends. Yes there are women who falsely accuse men of sexual assault/who regret a bad sexual encounter and wish to retrospectively change to rape. But only 2%-8% of allegations are false. Furthermore, a lot of sexual assaults go unreported. Think about that…anything that makes you question your own prejudices and behaviour is a good thing. I think we’re just seeing a further swing to things becoming more balanced and is long overdue. A lot of men are fearful/angry, but I sense some of that is because it’s inconvenient and they know some bad behaviour will no longer be acceptable.
As for BLM, I have a lot of sympathies with their cause. And I’m surprised many here aren’t supportive given your right-leanings and proclivity to be mistrustful of ‘big government’ or overreach. There is still a lot of issues with racism in the U.S. Some of it structural, a lot of it historical/cultural. I know people don’t want to hear it but you have to. The big mistake was how the North mistreated the South after the Civil War. That’s where the rot began. The North was committed to reconstruction within the South, but with the likes of Jesse James giving them a bloody nose they retreated. And so pretty much left the South to its devices for fears of stoking another civil war. Unfortunately this allowed such practices as segregation, lynchings and Jim crow laws to pass. And whilst a lot of work has been done, much more is needed to unpick the leftover legacy from those awful times. And I think there’s still a lot of problematic ingrained attitudes. There are large parts of America that are racially segregated. Parts that are neglected that need major reinvestment, resources and education. I think this invariably bleeds into the various law enforcement jurisdictions. A disproportionate number of blacks are falsely imprisoned and receive harsher sentences for the same crimes than white perpetrators (namely drug offences).I do think BLM has major blindspots with black-on-black crime and they’ve been silent when black police officers have been killed.
Apologies, I don’t wish to offend some and they may take issue with what I’ve said. But it was pretty much ‘stream of consciousness’ stuff there but this needs to be discussed. What we lack today is empathy. Even with those you profoundly don’t agree with, you should always try and imagine being in their shoes. This what marks us out differently from the animal world, to reason and empathise. If we did this, the world would be in a much better shape.
Final thought. If aliens or a UFO came down and landed in the White House. Do you honestly think mankind whether black, white, brown, yellow and everyone in-between would not see each other in a different light and realise despite our differences. We have much more in common than we’d like to admit. And that’s a crime.

ParticipantThat’s an interesting question. I think it’s a bit of both. We’ve heard how some have physically disguised themselves as a tree stump by squatting down. It’s possible they’ve developed more advanced abilities to hide themselves by dimension hopping. It tallies with eyewitness accounts and how we’ve not found bodies and such. What do you think?
