Wow…. This is such the example of how sad this subject gets. A harmless, dull video of nothing is posted as “interesting” … guys, come on.

sigh .. guys, the point is, these discussion areas don’t feel even or moderated unbiasedly. They very much slant away from any dissenting opinion. That’s a bummer, b/c you’d think “true believers” wouldn’t mind expressing why they are so sure.

I have never called anyone a liar on here. I only ask folks to explain, and “You’ll never get it!” or “Get off your keyboard!” are not actual responses.

I just think it’s sad how slanted the modifying is on SC. Now, go ahead Knobby….

You’ve made 12 replies or comments and started 0 threads for discussion. If you’re a skeptic that’s fine declare your piece and expect a contrarian view. If you are skeptic and would like to get on a soap box with like-minded people where everyone agrees with you, I would suggest checking out some of those skeptic websites but you will receive opposing views here.

If you want to moderate the moderators then yes we will take issue with that. If you’re here to cause disruption rather than participating in back and forth discussion then we’ll deal with that too. – Gumshoguy

I have to say that I find the moderation to be very overwhelming on here (the Forum). As one of the few skeptics on here (and that’s not a four-letter word…), who just enjoys the hell out of the storytelling and psychology and anthropology of this subject, I have seen my posts disappear like so much smoke.

Dissenting opinions are just as valid. Also, there’s going to be critiques and criticisms. Now, I would hate for that to be personal or of a nature untoward. However, such is life, right? You’re going to get blowback no matter what arena you are in.

In general, we all need to toughen our skins a bit. I am not saying we should have persons attacking others for accents or, say, gender or religiosity. But, I also don’t think it needs to be moderated. Especially the Forum area. That’s facist, in my opinion :).

Your content was removed because you trolled the forum; it had nothing to do with skepticism, that’s your straw man. You’ve never seen posts of your’s disappear because of espousing a skeptical view. You’re making that up. And its also against the rules to moderate the moderators; refer complaints to wes@sasquatchchronicles.com and he’ll moderate the moderators. And you don’t call anyone here fascists, moderator or participant.

NAWAC is the biggest reason I still hold onto hope of this all being real. I love these guys. I cannot imagine they are full of anything but scientific hope.

Just a quick correction: Acadia is in Maine–not RI. Go to RI every summer for vacation. Been to Arcadia once. It is so so crowded; I can hardly believe you could find any alone space..

    What an awful situation..

Alexander, I’ve already left a note for you about not using that profane word and being respectful of other participants, and here you spell out the four letter word and call Reo, the participant who started this thread, a fake. You cannot do that here. Again, see the pinned rules at the top of forum page.

All you did was list different types of eyewitnesses. A 100 pieces of weak evidence does not equate to one piece of strong evidence. Eyewitness testimony is great; in fact, it’s the whole reason I love this topic.

But, it’s not proof of anything. Thus, listing them out…? What’s the point of that. It wouldn’t matter if the PotUS, the Pope, and Prince Charles all claimed witness stories. Doesn’t make them count more.

This is the type of argumentation that makes this topic appear to fringe and goofy. We are better than this. Come on, now..

I really loved SasWhat. But, yes, the recent episodes (which are quickly coming to a close, for the record) are just promotional for the movie series–which is why he’s leaving the podcast.

But, the older stuff, in the archives, is fantastic. I’d recommend listening to the back catalogue. It is definitely a more skeptical / real-world take on the whole subject–but, that’s just what I love about it.

What I’m saying is that their stories are a weeee bit over-the-top, no? I mean, calling them in, having been hit by them, chased, shirts torn, chasing them in trucks down the road, spotlighting them …. they’re great storytellers. But, they’re just that–storytellers.

I have listened to them a lot; and, was not dismissive until the stories started to mount and mount and mount. A mountain of these stories without a shred of evidence is … dubious, at best.

“God is most likely” is one heck of funny statement to make. Hahah what in the known and unknown universe is your backing for such a claim?

Maybe we can start by proving the existence of BF, then prove god(s), then if they are physical or sublime…. Guys, come the ___ on. Sigh….

There is no valid reason to ‘cover up’ sasquatch, or any other creature. There just is not. This topic is so trite and tired..

There is no fiscal reason. There are myriad ‘dangerous’ creatures in every National Park. In fact, millions of humans go to these parks SPECIFICALLY to possibly spot a wolf or puma or f’ing wolverine. Traffic would go up by unknown exponential amounts if a mythical creature suddenly was proven to live there.

Logging, too, is no reason. None at all. There is Big Lumber lobby out there. No one is covering up a thing.

That talk just makes this whole community sound like nutty conspiracy theorists. I think it is a true disservice to this topic.

Just accept that, if BF does exist, at all–which, sadly, is highly unlikely, just based on what we know–s/he must be incredibly rare, elusive, smart, and capable of avoiding interactions with humanity.

    That’s it; and, that’s all.

Agh, these guys are the most self-important duo out there…. They try to good-ol’-country-boy their way out of it. But, come on … If anyone–ANYONE–had 1/1000000 the ‘experiences’ they have ‘had’….

I just cannot stand the lack of providing evidence. What’s worse, only, than not having any evidence after sooooo many encounters of many, many years, is when they say, “Oh, but we DO have evidence; we just refuse to share it…”

This sounds an awful lot like that. All of the crass self-promotion of worth in this specific world is quite irksome. As Wes always says, NO ONE is an expert in this field. So, saying you have some proprietary knowledge…? No no no no no. Just stop it.

You don’t have any knowledge that anyone else doesn’t have. So lame. So sophomoric, too.

The whole Will thing …. He was / is an interesting cat. He clearly is–at best–exaggerating a few things.

Back when, when I first started listening the SasChro, Will’s desperation to ‘prove’ he knew, was friends with, and was tight with the Four Horsemen of BF research drove me batty … well, more accurately, just was so sad.

He would mention his ‘relationship / friendship’ with John Green, Rene, and Grover every single chance he got.

I won’t say I entirely understand the human condition, but I certainly know that when any person must prove their credentials over and over, they usually are full of horseshit.

I really do think WJ was / is full of the best of intentions. But, I don’t think he ever had any true encounters–not to the point of what he claims. And, I think he may have met those early researchers once or twice–but was never a close personal friend.

Sadly, I find so much of the persons involved in ‘hominology’ to be very sad cases of folk who ‘need’ to feel special…
